Abstract

Improvements in wear detecting devices for friction linings, of the type mounted on a support in which one end of a metallic wire that has a flexible insulating coating, is insulated in an opening made in said support and is suitable for establishing electrical contact with a metallic friction surface that adjusts with said lining when the thickness of the latter reaches a predetermined minimum level, thus closing an electrical circuit connected to the other end of the metallic wire that includes a warning device, said one end of the wire being covered metallic by an insulating end piece provided with a sleeve portion adapted to be mounted and maintained in said opening, characterized in that said insulating coating is a cylindrical sheath that surrounds said thread, said end piece being molded or inlaid on the thread cover.
