A process for preparing a black pigmented plasticizer masterbatch composition comprising intimately mixing a plasticizer and a fuel oil carbon black, in such a proportion that the carbon black content is greater than about 15 percent of the composition, said carbon black having a specific surface area of less than about 350 m2/g, a Nigrometer scale value of less than about 8l, 5 percent, a dispersibility of more than about 80 percent and a value of absorption of dibutyl phthalate oil between approximately 40 and 150 Kgs/lOO kgs.
