Abstract
A method of refining molten glass having occluded gaseous inclusions, in which unrefined molten glass is fed to the top of a container that is rotated about a vertically aligned geometric axis and the molten glass is removed from the bottom of the rotating container, characterized in that the molten glass is discharged from the bottom of the rotating container along a curved passage that curves in opposition to the direction of rotation of the container, and of such a dimension that the molten glass is discharged from the passage at a speed approximately equal to and opposite the exit speed of the pass.
