A scale device comprising: a rocker arm or compensating arm, a support for pivotally mounting said compensating arm thereon in a first position; means for exerting on said compensating arm a force proportional to a load to be weighed to pivot said compensating arm on said support from said first position; first means for proportionally limiting the pivoting of said compensating arm under the action of an unbalancing force; and means spaced from said first means for measuring a displacement of said compensating arm from said first position, as a measure of the unbalancing force on said compensating arm.
