Abstract

A process for the production of a gasoline with a high octane number, characterized by comprising the operations of; (a) converting at least a portion of a heavy naphtha in a reforming zone, under relatively low severity reforming conditions, to produce a reformed gasoline product containing aromatic and saturated hydrocarbons; (b) passing at least a portion of said reformed gasoline product containing a portion of saturated compounds to a cracking zone for saturated products and cracking said unsaturated hydrocarbons under conditions such that the production of saturated light hydrocarbons is carried out and unsaturated and gasoline; and (c) converting a portion of said saturated and unsaturated light hydrocarbons into a gasoline component.
