Abstract
A process for the treatment of sulphation of ferrous raw materials, containing metals that can form soluble sulfates, such as copper, cobalt, nickel, zinc, manganese, cadmium and silver, characterized in that the raw material is roasted at 800-1100º c, in a fluidized bed furnace, after which the roasted material is transferred to a reaction vessel where the material is sulphated at a temperature of 600-750º, preferably 625-700º c, and because the material is taken from the furnace in such a condition that most of the non-ferrous metals present can be removed by leaching.
