Abstract

A cosmetic container and support arrangement is disclosed, and a method by which it is assembled. The container itself includes a main section (20) defining a compartment (24) adapted to house a cosmetic therein and a cooperating lid(22). The support (14) has a sheet-like main body (60) which includes a cutout (62) configured to accommodate the container. The container when closed is supported within the cutout such that at least one edge section (64a, 64b) of the main body (60) along the cutout extends between edge parts (26a,b28a,b) of the container's main section (20) and closed lid (22) to be entrapped by them and maintain the container in place. The entire arrangement may be hung from a peg (18) or the like by means of a cooperating through-hole (70) in the tab's main body (60). The container is packaged by opening it, passing either the lid (22) or the main section (20) through the cutout (62) and closing it so as to entrap the edge section(s) (64a,64b) and hold the container in place until such time as it is again opened. The cutout (62) may have segments (68,66) for accommodating latch (50) and hinge (42) parts of the container and allowing them to function without interference.
