Process for the manufacture of enameled wire, characterized in that a bare wire is passed through a polyester resin solution comprising the reaction product formed by heating a part of 25 to 56% equivalent, formed by terephthalic acid, isophthalic acid, a mixture of these acids or a derivative thereof with a radical which is bonded to the carbonyl group or groups and which is easily substituted by the alkoxy group of an alcohol; a part from 15 to 46% equivalent of ethylene glycol, and a part from 13 to 44% equivalent of a polyvalent alcohol, aliphatic and saturated with at least three hydroxyl groups, in whose transposition an esterification catalyst is used and the temperature is slowly raised to 200-270º C and maintained for a long time at its maximum value; finally passing the wire coated by a high temperature zone, for the hardening of the resin layer applied on it.
