Abstract
A process for forming a salt of an alkylene-bisdithiocarbamic acid by the interaction of an alkylene diamine, carbon disulfide and a metal hydroxide, characterized in that it comprises the formation of an intermediate reaction product by gradual addition and stirring of carbon disulfide to an alkylene diamine containing from 2 to 5 carbon atoms inclusive and, without separating said intermediate reaction product from the reactive mass obtained the reaction of the intermediate product with a hydroxide of a metal selected from the group consisting of sodium, lithium, potassium, magnesium and calcium, carrying out said operations at a temperature substantially not higher than 50ยบ C.
