Abstract
Horno para la fabricación de material de varilla o material tubular claro que consiste de cuarzo, vidrio de cuarzo u otros vidrios que tienen un contenido elevado de SiO2, que comprende una salida para el material fundido provisto con un dispositivo de calentamiento, y medios para suministrar materia prima al horno, caracterizado porque una de las paredes laterales verticales del horno tiene una abertura en que se ubica un quemador que está ubicado de modo que la llama que emerge de él está dirigida, al menos substancialmente en una dirección horizontal y colocada a corta distancia por encima de la superficie de la masa fundida presente en el horno, mientras que los medios para suministrar materia prima están construidos de modo que permitan disponer una capa delgada y preferentemente única de materia prima en la superficie superior de la masa fundida.
