Abstract
Procedimiento de corte de un cuerpo metálicoque incluye las fases o etapas de: descargar una corriente de gas a través de una boquilla que rodea a un electrodo; formar un arco por fuera de la boquilla entre el electrodo y el cuerpo a cortarfundiendo así una parte localizada de dicho cuerpo y expulsando el metal fundido por el lado opuesto del mismo; y hacer avanzar progresivamente el arco a lo largo de una trayectoria escogida a voluntad sobre dicho cuerpo hasta formar una cortadura en el mismo; caracterizado dicho procedimiento por el hecho de que la velocidad de dicha corriente de gas se mantiene a un valor lo bastante elevado para estabilizar en sentido axil el arco externo y mantener la cortadura esencialmente exenta de escoria al menos por un lado.
