Abstract

The device comprises a probe made up of an enclosing body carrying, on the inside, a capillary tube for picking up samples and also a cone for receiving disposable tips which can be coupled and uncoupled mechanically, the probe, which acts as variable condenser (capacitor), being connected to a low-frequency oscillator combined with a second oscillator of much higher frequency via a counting device which carries out a frequency count during a window period corresponding to a defined number of cycles of the frequency of oscillation of the first oscillator for the purpose of precisely measuring the variable frequency of the first oscillator, the counting signal passing to a microprocessor for deciding level detection, presence of disposable tip or other preprogrammed characteristics.
