Abstract

The mechanism consists of two or more flat blades (7a,7b) which can move together or apart and up or down together. Each blade has one or more recesses (8a,8a',8a'') which align with similar recesses (12a,12a',12a'') in the walls of the box (10) in which the flat documents (5) are loaded, allowing the documents to be compressed so that the blades can be withdrawn following insertion. The compression of the documents in the box is performed by reciprocating lateral members with prongs which pass through the aligned recesses in the blades and box walls.
