Abstract

The mechanism comprises two separate drums 21, 22 which are located at the entrance 26 of an inverter guide 25 which, with the cooperation of pairs of conveyor belts, move the sheets to be folded first towards the inside of the guide and then towards the outside, with the sheets in an inverted position. The lower belts 9a, 10a pass via removable pulleys 23, 24 located at the entrance of the guide and via idle pulleys 43, 44 which can be displaced as desired in terms of height, in order, optionally, to place the belts in a linear position so that the sheets 2 do not enter the inverter guide 25 when suitable. In the upper part of the guide 25 there is a detector connected to a timer which shuts down the mechanism if a sheet 2 is logged in the guide. At the bottom of said guide there is a stop 29 which can be graduated and retracted as desired. The components of the upper part of the mechanism are mounted in a frame 46, 46a which can be moved as desired in terms of height by means of mechanisms 47, in order to remove the sheets which have become logged between the belts.
