Micro-meter for managing electricity consumption. Measures the consumption of individual appliances 28 based on an effective current sensor transmitting it to a reader 20, which shows in a display 26 the consumption and cost - in accordance with the current charges - in appropriate units, e.g. kW-hours and pesetas. Elements of an electrical plug 27, 30 may be incorporated, incorporating a transmitter 29 for transmission to the portable reader's 20 receiver 21. The consumption data can be transmitted to a digital system equipped with a central management unit that enables optimum management of energy consumption, based on the values of the physical magnitudes sensed by the system, by connecting or disconnecting appliances or, for example, altering the air conditioning temperature by 1 degree C, with the consequent saving and optimum management of productive resources according to the demand for electricity.
