Abstract
The apparatus comprises a casing 1, inside which the paste is conveyed, with a bell-shaped part 9 for the extraction of vapours means for heating the paste by means of a heat-providing fluid and a device 10 for advancing the paste along the casing 1, which consists of a rotary tubular core 11 over whose outer surface a helix 13 is rolled, forming an endless screw for conveying the paste in the casing. In the tubular core 11 there is a conduit 14 for supplying vapour, and mounted on the helix 13 there is at least one coil 16 via which vapour circulates from a connection with the conduit 14 to a cylindrical chamber 15 where the condensate is collected and from which it is discharged to the outside. The process consists in providing heat to the paste as it advances, causing vapour to circulate via the inside of the advance device 11, 13 and/or through the coil 16, and/or outside the casing 1. The apparatus has a very high overall heat transmission coefficient and therefore a good thermal yield, achieving very satisfactory levels of drying.
