Abstract
Expanded polystyrene blocks (10) are provided between steel mesh-reinforced concrete slabs (2, 3) and vertical webs (8, 9) extending in between them. Concrete can be added to edge cavities (11) on all four sides of the panel. A pre-fabricated wall with a sandwich structure comprising reinforced concrete and expanded polystyrene comprises two thin concrete slabs forming the inner and outer sides of the wall, each reinforced with steel mesh (4, 5) and joined together via vertical webs. Expanded polystyrene blocks form cores in between the two slabs and the webs. The four sides or edges of the panel contain cavities for receiving concrete, via which concrete can be added to the bottom cavity in the panel base.
