Abstract
2-Amino derivs. of 3,4-dihydro 4-oxo pyrido (2,3-d)-pyrimidine, of formula (I) in which R is H or alkyl, and X is alkylamino, arylamino, or aralkylamino, and their acceptable salts, for use as diuretics and in treatment of hypertension, are made by reaction of derivs. of formula (II) in which X is halo alkythio or alkoxy, with amines of formula -NR1R2, in which R1 and R2 are H, alkyl, aryl or 5-6 member heterocycles contg. O, N or S.
