Abstract

N-(2-hydroxy 5- (1-hydroxy 2-((2-(4- methoxyphenyl) 1-methyl ethyl) amino)ethyl)phenyl) formamide of formula (I), with beta adrenergic- stimulating activity, for use as a broncho-dilator, anti-allergy and anti-asthma agent, etc., is made by reacting 4-hydroxy 3-(N-formylamino) phenyl oxirane, with the 4-hydroxy gps. protected, pref. by a benzyl gp., with 1-(4-methoxy phenyl) 2-propanamine and subsequent removal of the protective gp. by treatment with liq. HF.
