Abstract
MICROALGA MARINA Y SU EMPLEO EN ACUICULTURA Y EN LA OBTENCION DE ACIDOS GRASOS POLIINSATURADOS. UNA CEPA DE LA MICROALGA MARINA ISOCHRYSIS GALBANA, DEPOSITADA EN LA CCAP CON EL NUMERO DE DEPOSITO CCAP 927/15 ES CAPAZ DE PRODUCIR ELEVADAS CANTIDADES DE ACIDOS GRASOS POLIINSATURADOS, ESPECIALMENTE DE ACIDO EICOSAPENTAENOICO (EPA) Y DE ACIDO DOCOSAHEXAENOICO (DHA). LA CEPA MICROALGAL CRECE ADECUADAMENTE A UNA TEMPERATURA DE 18 C A 25 C, EN UN PH DE 7 A 9,5, PREFERENTEMENTE A UN PH DE 7,65 A 8,00. LA CEPA MICROALGAL, CULTIVADA A 20 C EN UN FERMENTADOR DE 5 LITROS AGITADO POR PALETAS Y CON ILUMINACION CONTINUA, PRODUCE EPA EN UNA CANTIDAD DE, AL MENOS, 39,5 MG POR GRAMO DE MATERIA SECA. ESTA CEPA ES ADECUADA PARA SU EMPLEO EN ACUICULTURA (ALIMENTACION DE LARVAS DE PECES Y MOLUSCOS) Y EN LA OBTENCION DE EPA Y/O DE UN ACEITE RICO EN EPA Y EN DHA NECESARIOS PARA LA NUTRICION Y SALUD HUMANAS.MARINE MICROALGAE AND ITS USE IN AQUACULTURE AND IN THE OBTAINING OF POLYUNSATURATED FATTY ACIDS. A STRAIN OF THE MARINE MICROALGA ISOCHRYSIS GALBANA, DEPOSITED AT THE CCAP UNDER THE DEPOSIT NUMBER CCAP 927/15, IS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING LARGE QUANTITIES OF POLYUNSATURATED FATTY ACIDS, ESPECIALLY EICOSAPENTAENOIC ACID (EPA) AND DOCOSAHEXAENOIC ACID (DHA). THE MICROALGAL STRAIN GROWS ADEQUATELY AT A TEMPERATURE OF 18 C TO 25 C, AT A PH OF 7 TO 9.5, PREFERABLY AT A PH OF 7.65 TO 8.00. THE MICROALGAL STRAIN, CULTIVATED AT 20 C IN A 5-LITRE PADDLE-STIRRED FERMENTER WITH CONTINUOUS LIGHTING, PRODUCES EPA IN AN AMOUNT OF AT LEAST 39.5 MG PER GRAM OF DRY MATTER. THIS STRAIN IS SUITABLE FOR USE IN AQUACULTURE (FEEDING LARVAE OF FISH AND MOLLUSCS) AND IN OBTAINING EPA AND/OR AN OIL RICH IN EPA AND DHA NECESSARY FOR HUMAN NUTRITION AND HEALTH.
