Abstract

Una turbina hidráulica de reacción de paso axil en la cual unos álabes de freno hidráulico están pivotados dentro de una caja de freno unida al rotor de la turbina y se disponen medios de resorte dentro de dicha caja de freno que cargan a dichos álabes de freno hidráulico a posición retraída cuyos medios de resorte son vencidos por la fuerza centrífuga que actúa sobre dichos álabes de freno a una velocidad excesiva predeterminada y los bascula dentro del flujo de agua produciendo entonces dichos álabes de freno hidráulico un par de giro opuesto al producido por el rotor de la turbina y retardan automáticamente a dichos álabes de freno hidráulico cuando la velocidad de la turbina ha sido reducida a una velocidad considerablemente por debajo de dicha velocidad excesiva.
