Abstract

The present invention refers to a mask, of the type used to cover the respiratory tract and protect them from viruses, bacteria, dust, pollutants, and any other type of suspended particles.

The object of the invention is to provide a reusable and reversible mask with high filtration efficiency without affecting its breathability, washable, water-repellent and durable.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

As is known, the appearance of Covid-19 has made it mandatory in most cases for the use of masks by the population.

The problem with disposable masks is that they have a very short duration, constituting a very important environmental problem from the point of view of the waste that they constitute once discarded.

Trying to avoid this problem, reusable masks are known, which usually present a series of problems, among which the following should be highlighted:

• If they have a high filtration capacity, they tend to have low breathability, or vice versa, resulting in the first case annoying after a certain time of use, or unsafe in the second case.

• They are not usually reversible.

• They do not have water repellency.

EXPLANATION OF THE INVENTION

The reusable and reversible prevention mask that is recommended solves in a fully satisfactory way the previously exposed problem, based on a simple but effective solution.

To this end, the mask of the invention is made up of a two-layer body, which extends from the area near the user's ears to the area of the nose, covering the lower part of the chin, which in correspondence with Its ends include a pair of elastic tapes that extend from one end of the mask to the other, and that are fixed between the two layers of the main body of the mask, making it reversible, these tapes can be linked to each lateral end of the mask. body of the mask to adapt to the user's ears, main body in which a first layer based on water-repellent polyester with silver ions (antibacterial fabric) is established, while the second layer is made up of heat-sealed fabrics, It will be made of a mixture (80/20%) of polyester and polyamide with a water-repellent and antibacterial finish.

Said layers may have different patterns, in order to allow one or another decoration to be displayed depending on the tastes of each user, thus achieving a waterproof, antibacterial mask, with high breathability and high filtration percentage, washable up to 50 cycles tested, respectful with the environment and complying with the Spanish regulations UNE 0065-2020 and European regulations CWA 17553: 2020

As is evident, the reversible nature of the mask requires washing it before turning it over if it has been previously used, being recommended to be washed every eight hours of use, whether accumulated in the same day or in two or more days , and can be washed with conventional detergent and water at a temperature of up to 60 ° C.

The mask can be manufactured in different sizes or sizes, suitable for children from 3 years old to adults with a high perimeter head contour.

PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION

In view of the outlined figure, it can be seen how the mask of the invention is constituted from a body (1) determining an envelope that covers the user's airways, extending to the area of the ears and under the chin of the user. user, in which two superimposed layers (2-3) of a textile nature participate, a first layer (2), intended to be preferably the outer layer, obtained in polyester with silver ions, while the second layer will be heat-sealed fabrics in which a mixture (80/20%) of polyester and polyamide participates.

In correspondence with the ends of the main body of the mask, two elastic bands (4) are established, fixed by sewing and arranged in parallel horizontally, comfortably adaptable to the contour of the user's head.

As can be seen in the figures, the layers (2-3) may have different patterns or ornamentation, and the mask can be used interchangeably with one or another visible layer.

In any case, this bi-layer structure allows for efficient filtration higher than 95%, according to the tests established by the UNE-EN 14683 standard, filtering efficiency exceeding 90% after 10 washing cycles.

Regarding the breathability capacity, in which a value not exceeding 60 Pa / cm2 is established as a limit, this value after 10 washing cycles was only 13.
