Abstract

A dosing reservoir for receiving and discharging a liquid for treating laundry in a washing machine or the like comprises a closure which can be opened during the washing cycle and which has an operating extension (6) projecting above the surrounding surface of the dosing reservoir. To obtain an improved dosing reservoir and in particular a more convenient design, the closure element (4) is lodged in a retainer (7) projecting into the interior of the dosing reservoir (1) and the tip (8) of the operating extension (6) which projects above the surrounding surface of the dosing reservoir (3) in the closed position is located approximately level with or above the surrounding wall of the dosing reservoir (3) in the fully open position.
