SE CARACTERIZA POR SU FORMA TRONCO CONICA Y POR ESTAR FABRICADO EN PLASTICO, RESINA O COMPUESTO QUIMICO SIMILAR, DE GRAN RESISTENCIA, CON EL FIN DE PROTEGER EL MICRO-CHIP DEL TIPO LECTURA O LECTURA/ESCRITURA QUE LLEVA OCLUIDO EN SU INTERIOR. EL DISPOSITIVO ALBERGA EN SU INTERIOR, DE MANERA INMOVILIZADA, UN MICRO-CHIP, ALIMENTADO POR CONEXION A UNA ANTENA QUE FORMA PARTE DEL CONJUNTO, EN EL CUAL SE PUEDE GRABAR O LEER A PARTIR DE UN SOFTWARE ADECUADO, SIN NECESIDAD DE ROCE O CONTACTO FISICO, LOS DATOS CORRESPONDIENTES A LA INFORMACION ALMACENADA EN EL MISMO. DEPENDIENDO DEL MATERIAL DE CONSTRUCCION DEL BARRIL, EL DISPOSITIVO PODRA SER FIJADO AL MISMO CON ADHESIVO, O BIEN, PARA AQUELLOS CASOS EN QUE EL DISPOSITIVO DEBA IR ATORNILLADO, SOLDADO O REMACHADO, MEDIANTE UN ANILLO DE ACERO INOXIDABLE, HIERRO O CUALQUIER MATERIAL METALICO QUE SE PUEDA SOLDAR, DISEÑADO ESPECIALMENTE PARA ENCAJAR EN LA FORMA TRONCO CONICA DEL DISPOSITIVO DE MANERA QUE NOS PERMITA ATORNILLARLO, SOLDARLO O REMACHARLO AL BARRIL/CONTENEDOR.
