Description

The invention relates to a method for assembling a contact carrier arrangement and the contact carrier arrangement.

Various connectors and connector housings are known from the prior art. In many connectors, the respective housing is separated from the actual contact carrier, so that, for example, the cables are first routed through the housing before the cables are connected to the contacts of the contact carrier and the contact carrier is mounted in the housing.

However, for the assembly of systems or products, it is advantageous to provide ready-made cable harnesses with the contact carriers connected to them. This also means that the individual cables or conductors of the cable harnesses are connected to the respective contact carriers. However, the cable harnesses with the contact carrier connected to them can usually no longer be guided through openings or mounted in the housing of the contact carrier, since the contact carrier would first have to be dismantled from the cable harness. If a connector or a connector housing is designed in such a way that the contact carrier does not have to be guided through the housing, but can be mounted from the cable side, the connector is usually for normal use in which the cables are only inserted after they have been passed through the opening are contacted with the contact carrier, unsuitable because assembly then usually has to be done from the back.

Depending on the use, with the connectors known in the prior art, a specific connector must be used, which is designed for mounting the contact carrier in the contact carrier housing from the back or from the front, but which is not suitable for both types of assembly.

Dieses Dokument offenbart den Oberbegriff des unabhängigen Anspruchs 1.Printed prior art in the present technical field, which reflects the preamble of claim 1, is in the document WO 2011/038238 A2 disclosed. This document discloses the preamble of independent claim 1.

The invention is therefore based on the object of overcoming the aforementioned disadvantages and of providing a contact carrier arrangement and a method for assembling the contact carrier arrangement, through which the contact carrier arrangement can be mounted with a pre-assembled cable harness from the back of a contact carrier housing and without a pre-assembled cable harness from the front of the contact carrier housing . Furthermore, a standardized contact carrier should be usable and assembly should be carried out quickly and cost-efficiently.

This task is achieved by the combination of features according to claim 1.

  • Durchführen des Kontaktträgers (20) durch das Kontaktträgergehäuse (10) von der Rückseite (R) des Kontaktträgergehäuses;
  • Montieren zumindest einer Adapterplatte (30) an dem durchgeführten Kontaktträger (20);
  • Anordnen des Kontaktträgers (20) in dem Kontaktträgergehäuse (10), wobei die zumindest eine Adapterplatte (30) auf jeweils einer durch das Kontaktträgergehäuse (10) ausgebildeten Anschlagsfläche (11) aufliegend angeordnet wird;
  • Fixieren der zumindest einen Adapterplatte (30) durch Befestigungsmittel an der jeweiligen Anschlagsfläche (11);
According to the invention, a method for assembling a contact carrier arrangement is proposed. The contact carrier arrangement comprises a contact carrier (20) which, in its assembled state, is arranged in a contact carrier housing (10) which is open on both sides and has a front and a rear side (V, R). The procedure includes at least the following steps:
  • Passing the contact carrier (20) through the contact carrier housing (10) from the back (R) of the contact carrier housing;
  • Mounting at least one adapter plate (30) on the inserted contact carrier (20);
  • Arranging the contact carrier (20) in the contact carrier housing (10), wherein the at least one adapter plate (30) is arranged resting on a stop surface (11) formed by the contact carrier housing (10);
  • Fixing the at least one adapter plate (30) to the respective one using fasteners stop surface (11);
wherein when arranging the contact carrier (20) in the contact carrier housing (10), at least two guide grooves (32) formed on the at least one adapter plate (30) are brought into engagement with corresponding guides (12) formed on the contact carrier housing (10) and the contact carrier (20) is moved along the guides (12) towards the back (R) of the contact carrier housing (10) until the at least one adapter plate (30) rests on the respective stop surface, and wherein the adapter plate (30) has at least one through hole and the Stop surface (11) has a threaded hole or a through hole (13), the fastening means with which the adapter plate (30) is fixed to the stop surface (11) being a screw (34) which passes through the through hole (33) of the adapter plate (30) extends and engages in the threaded hole or runs through the through hole (13) of the stop surface (11).

Furthermore, according to the invention, the adapter plate (30), the contact carrier housing (10) and the contact carrier (20) are made of an electrically conductive material.

In the sense of the invention, the contact carrier arrangement corresponds to a plug connector arrangement, wherein the contact carrier has the plug face, i.e. socket or plug body, and the contact carrier housing corresponds to the plug connector housing. By using adapter plates that are designed to be fixed to standardized contact carriers, these standardized contact carriers can be used without having to provide specially designed contact carriers.

The front of the contact carrier housing is the side on which a mating face of the contact carrier lies when the contact carrier arrangement is fully assembled. The back of the contact carrier housing is the side opposite it, on which the contacts for connecting the cables or cable harness are provided. When fully assembled, the contact carrier housing rests on the rear side against the surface of the system or the system housing on which the contact carrier arrangement is to be mounted.

Furthermore, in a variant, the method provides that at least one cable is electrically conductively connected to a contact body or contact of the contact carrier before the contact carrier is passed through the contact carrier housing. This makes it possible to use pre-assembled cables in which only the contact carriers that are already connected to the cables still have to be mounted in the contact carrier housing.

To carry out the method, the at least one adapter plate each has at least one threaded hole and the contact carrier has at least one through hole or vice versa. When the at least one adapter plate is mounted on the contact carrier, the at least one adapter plate is then fixed to the contact carrier by a first screw that runs through the through hole and engages in the threaded hole.

Thanks to the guides, the adapter plates do not get misjudged in the contact carrier housing when arranging the adapter plates. In addition, the adapter plates only rest on the contact carrier housing in the area of the guides, so that only the guides and the guide panels have to be designed to correspond to one another. With the exception of the guides or the areas adjacent to the guides and the surfaces facing the stop surface, the remaining areas of the adapter plates that face the contact carrier housing can be manufactured with less precision because they are not in contact with the contact carrier housing. This results in lower manufacturing costs.

According to the invention, the adapter plate has at least one through hole and the stop surface has a threaded hole or a through hole. The fastening means with which the adapter plate is fixed to the stop surface is a second screw which runs through the through hole and which engages in the threaded hole. If the stop surface has a through hole, the screw also runs through the through hole of the stop surface and is fixed behind it in the system housing by a nut or a thread.

The contact carrier housing has a passage that runs from its back to its front and is particularly rectangular in its basic shape. The stop surfaces extend orthogonally to the passage and are preferably designed as webs which are connected to the contact carrier housing on three sides. The contact carrier housing has at least one fastening element for attaching the contact carrier housing to a mounting surface. The contact carrier is guided through the passage when passing through.

In an advantageous development, the contact carrier housing is fastened with its rear side to the mounting surface by the at least one fastening element before the contact carrier is passed through the contact carrier housing.

In a further development of the method, the mounting surface is formed by a system housing or is arranged on a system housing. The contact carrier housing can therefore be assembled as intended before the contact carrier is installed. The contact carrier housing can then be guided from the back through an opening in the system housing through the contact carrier housing and fixed to the contact carrier housing by means of the adapter plates. Alternatively, the cables can also be guided through the opening in the system housing and contacted on the front of the contact carrier housing with the contact carrier or the contacts of the contact carrier before the contact carrier is fixed in the contact carrier housing by means of the adapter plates.

In an advantageous embodiment, the at least one adapter plate is mounted on the contact carrier before or after the contact carrier is arranged in the contact carrier housing.

According to the invention, a contact carrier arrangement with a contact carrier, a contact carrier housing that is open on both sides and has a front and a back side and at least one adapter plate is also proposed. The contact carrier housing has a passage. The passage is designed so that the contact carrier can be passed through from a back to a front of the contact carrier housing. In particular, the contact carrier housing is designed such that the contact carrier with cables contacted therewith can be passed through the contact carrier housing. The at least one adapter plate is designed to be attached to the contact carrier as intended. The contact carrier can be arranged with the at least one adapter plate attached thereto on at least one stop surface formed by the contact carrier housing and can be fixed to the contact carrier housing. Furthermore, the contact carrier arrangement is designed such that the contact carrier can also be arranged in the contact carrier housing from the front of the contact carrier housing without having to pass the contact carrier through the contact carrier housing.

According to the invention, contact carrier housings, adapter plates and contact carriers are made of an electrically conductive material. The stop surfaces formed by the contact carrier housing are in particular integrally designed as grounding surfaces, so that the contact carrier or contact carrier housing can be grounded by flying onto the stop surfaces using the adapter plates.

The at least one through hole of the adapter plate is designed in particular as an elongated hole in order to enable play and alignment of the contact carrier with the adapter plates in the contact carrier housing, the guide grooves being wider than the guides in order to enable an alignment movement. Alternatively, the guide grooves do not enable any alignment movement of the adapter plates relative to the stop surfaces, with the through holes designed as elongated holes requiring lower manufacturing precision for assembly, so that manufacturing costs decrease.

Stecker) kontaktiert, schließen die jeweiligen Gehäuse durch das Dichtelement dicht miteinander ab.Furthermore, an embodiment is advantageous in which a sealing element, in particular a sealing ring, runs on the front of the contact carrier housing around the through opening. The contact carrier arrangement is also designed to be contacted on the front of the contact carrier housing with a counterpart or counter-contact element or to be closed by a cover which rests sealingly on the sealing element. Becomes If the contact carrier (plug or socket) contacts a mating contact carrier (socket or plug), the respective housings are sealed together by the sealing element.

The features disclosed above can be combined in any way, as long as this is technically possible and they do not contradict each other.

The figures are exemplary schematic. The same reference numbers in the figures indicate the same functional and/or structural features.

Figure 1 shows the not yet fully assembled contact carrier arrangement without the adapter plates 30. A cable K has already been connected to the contact carrier 20, so that the contact carrier 20 with the connected cable K is arranged on the back R of the contact carrier housing 10. The contact carrier housing 10 is already mounted on a mounting surface M of a system housing, which is only partially shown. The system housing has an opening, with the through opening 14 of the contact carrier housing 10 being arranged above the opening of the system housing. The back R of the contact carrier housing 10 faces the system housing or the mounting surface M and the front V of the contact carrier housing 10 faces away from the mounting surface M or the system housing.

The condition in Figure 1 The state of the contact carrier arrangement shown is shown in the in Figure 2 shown state by the contact carrier 20 with the cable K connected to it or a part of the cable K connected to it being guided from the back R through the opening in the system housing and the passage 14 of the contact carrier housing 10 to the front V of the contact carrier housing 10. The adapter plates 30 are then arranged on the contact carrier 20 and fixed to one another by the screws 22. For this purpose, the screws 22 extend through a through hole 21 and rest with the screw heads on the contact carrier 20, the screws engaging in the threaded holes 31 of the adapter plates 30 and thereby fixing the contact carrier 20 and adapter plates together.

After the adapter plates 30 have been fixed to the contact carrier 20 by the screws 22, the contact carrier 20 is connected to the adapter plates 30, as in Figure 3 shown, arranged in the contact carrier housing 10. For this purpose, the guide grooves 32 of the adapter plates 30 are brought into engagement with the guides 12 of the contact carrier housing 10 and the contact carrier housing 10 with the adapter plates 30 is pushed from the front V along the guides 12 towards the back R until the adapter plates 30 are flat on the stop surfaces 11 lie on.

In Figure 4 It is shown that after the adapter plates 30 have been brought into contact with the stop surfaces 11, the contact carrier 20 is fixed via the adapter plates 30 by means of the screws 34 to the contact carrier housing 10 and the system housing.

Figure 5 shows the contact carrier housing 10 and two adapter plates 30 in a perspective view, so that in particular the essentially rectangular passage 14 and the guides 12 of the contact carrier housing 10 can be seen.

The implementation of the invention is not limited to the preferred exemplary embodiments given above. Rather, a number of variants are conceivable, which make use of the solution presented even in fundamentally different designs. For example, the contact carrier housing could be divided into two and arranged around the cable harness during the process and fixed to one another.
