Description
The present invention relates to an electrical conduction member comprising an electrically conductive bar and an electrical wire connected thereto. The invention also relates to a method of manufacturing an electric conduction member of this type.
Such electrical conduction members are present in electrical equipment, for example present in the electric meters, to form a connecting element capable of driving relatively large currents, such as a measurement shunt.
The electrical conduction member thus generally comprises an electrically conductive bar and an electrical wire which is covered with an electrically insulating sheath and which has a stripped end welded to the bar.
The stripped end of the wire is flattened during welding and it appeared that the stripped end of the wire has insufficient mechanical strength and in particular when the conductive core of the electrical wire consists of a plurality of stranded conductors. Indeed, the installation of the conduction member in the electrical equipment and the subsequent maintenance operations require manipulations of the electrical wire subjecting it to repeated bending which may lead to the rupture of the area of the bare end not welded to the bar.
An object of the invention is to provide a simple, reliable and inexpensive means for attaching the end of the electrical wire to the bar.
For this purpose, it is provided, according to the invention, an electrical conduction member comprising an electrically conductive bar and an electric wire which is covered by an electrically insulating sheath and having a stripped end welded to the bar, characterized in that a one-piece lug with the bar protrudes from one side thereof and in that a non-stripped portion of the wire is fixed on the tab by a sleeve enclosing the tab and said portion.
The stripped end of the wire, which is welded to the bar, and the non-stripped portion of the wire, which is attached to the tab, can not be subjected to repeated bending due to the rigidity of the bar which thus protects said end of the efforts excessive. The area of the wire that can be subjected to repeated bending is then the non-stripped portion of the wire that is not fixed to the tab and that has a cross section that is not thwarted because of the proximity of the weld unlike the cross section of the stripped end. This takes advantage of the strength of the sheath and that provided by the unconverted shape of the cross section of the non-stripped portion of the wire which is not fixed to the leg. The thus made connection of the wire on the bar provides better resistance to bending stresses.
Preferably, the sleeve is of a heat-shrinkable material.
Ce mode de réalisation est particulièrement simple. This embodiment is particularly simple.
Advantageously, the tab has a cross section flaring away from the bar.
The shape of the tab is opposed to the withdrawal of the sleeve.
Advantageously, the tab extends from a bottom of a notch formed in one side of the bar.
The arrangement of the tab in a notch provides protection against the risk of snagging of the paw and wire area immediately adjacent to the paw.
The invention also relates to a method of manufacturing such an electrical conduction member.
Other features and advantages of the invention will emerge on reading the following description of particular non-limiting embodiments of the invention.
