- According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention the foodstuff support grid is symmetric in relation to a central axis parallel to the sliding direction of said foodstuff support grid. This symmetric structure allows a double push-in stop as well as a double pull-out stop.
- Preferably, the foodstuff support grid includes a further rod section formed in the lateral boundary bar of said foodstuff support grid. Thus, the front side and the rear side of the foodstuff support grid may be exchanged, wherein the push-in stop and the pull-out stop functions are maintained.
- Thereby the foodstuff support grid may be symmetric in relation to a central axis perpendicular to the sliding direction of said foodstuff support grid. Thus, the rod section and the further rod section have the same distance from the rear side and the front side of the foodstuff support grid, respectively. The front side and the rear side of the foodstuff support grid can be exchanged by maintaining the geometric properties of the push-in stop and pull-out stop functions.

-
FIG 1 illustrates a perspective view of afoodstuff support grid 10 according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention. - The
foodstuff support grid 10 is formed as a substantially rectangular grid. Thefoodstuff support grid 10 comprises arectangular frame 12 and a plurality ofbars 14. Theframe 12 includes afront boundary bar 16, arear boundary bar 18 and two lateral boundary bars 20. The changeovers between the adjacent boundary bars are curved. Theframe 12 extends horizontally in a higher plane of thefoodstuff support grid 10. Central portions of thebars 14 extend horizontally in a lower plane of thefoodstuff support grid 10. - Each
lateral boundary bar 20 includes tworod sections 22 in each case. The onerod section 22 is arranged in a rear portion of thelateral boundary bar 20, and theother rod section 22 is arranged in a front portion of saidlateral boundary bar 20. In this embodiment the distance between therod section 22 in the rear portion of thelateral boundary bar 20 and the rear side of thefoodstuff support grid 10 corresponds with the distance between therod section 22 in the front portion of thelateral boundary bar 20 and the front side of thefoodstuff support grid 10. - In this example the
foodstuff support grid 10 comprises all in all fourrod sections 22. However, the tworod sections 22 in the rear portions of the lateral boundary bars 20 would be enough, if always at first the rear side of thefoodstuff support grid 10 is inserted into an oven cavity. The fourrod sections 22 allow a rotation of thefoodstuff support grid 10, wherein the rear side and front side of thefoodstuff support grid 10 may be exchanged. - In
FIG 1 the distance between thefront boundary bar 16 and itsclosest rod section 22 on the one hand and the distance between theboundary bar 18 and itsclosest rod section 22 on the other hand is equal. In this case thefoodstuff support grid 10 is symmetric, and thefront boundary bar 16 and therear boundary bar 18 may be interchanged. Alternatively, said two distances may be also different. -
FIG 2 illustrates a detailed perspective view of arod section 22 at thefoodstuff support grid 10 according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention.FIG 2 clarifies the structure and the arrangement of therod section 22. Therod section 22 is formed as a short rod. Therod section 22 is welded on thelateral boundary bar 20. The longitudinal axis of therod section 22 extends perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of thelateral boundary bar 20. -
FIG 3 illustrates a perspective view of aside grid 30 according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention. Twosymmetric side grids 30 are provided for the side walls of the oven cavity. Theside grid 30 is made of horizontal and vertical bars. - The
side grid 30 comprises a number of guiding devices. In this example theside grid 30 comprises five guiding devices. Since twosymmetric side grids 30 are attached at side walls of the oven cavity, five pairs of guiding devices are arranged at different levels in the oven cavity. The pair of guiding devices is provided for receiving the slidablefoodstuff support grid 10. - Each of the guiding devices includes an upper
horizontal bar 32 and a lowerhorizontal bar 34. The lowerhorizontal bar 34 is provided for supporting the correspondinglateral boundary bar 20 of thefoodstuff support grid 10. The upperhorizontal bar 32 prevents a tilting of thefoodstuff support grid 10, when a part of saidfoodstuff support grid 10 has been extracted from the oven cavity. - The upper
horizontal bar 32 includes arear embossing 26 and afront embossing 28. Therear embossing 26 is a buckling in the rear portion of the upperhorizontal bar 32, wherein said buckling extends downwards. In a similar way, thefront embossing 28 is a buckling in the front portion of the upperhorizontal bar 32, wherein the buckling also extends downwards. - The
rear embossing 26 of theside grid 30 and therod section 22 of thefoodstuff support grid 10 form a push-in stop for saidfoodstuff support grid 10. In a similar way, thefront embossing 28 of theside grid 30 and therod section 22 of thefoodstuff support grid 10 form a pull-out stop for saidfoodstuff support grid 10. The pull-out stop acts, when thefoodstuff support grid 10 is tilting. - The push-in stop prevents that the
foodstuff support grid 10 knocks at a rear wall of the oven cavity. The pull-out stop prevents that thefoodstuff support grid 10 tumbles down from the oven cavity. Thus, thefoodstuff support grid 10 is slidable along the pair of guiding devices, wherein therod section 22 is moveable between therear embossing 26 and thefront embossing 28. -
FIG 4 illustrates a detailed perspective view of therear embossing 26 at theside grid 30 and therod section 22 at thefoodstuff support grid 10 according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention.FIG 4 shows that therod section 22 lies against therear embossing 26. The interaction of therod section 22 and therear embossing 26 forms the push-in stop of thefoodstuff support grid 10. -
FIG 5 illustrates a detailed side view of therear embossing 26 at theside grid 30 and therod section 22 at thefoodstuff support grid 10 according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention.FIG 5 clarifies that therod section 22 lies against therear embossing 26, so that the interaction of therod section 22 and therear embossing 26 forms the push-in stop of thefoodstuff support grid 10. -
FIG 6 illustrates a perspective view of theside grid 30 and thefoodstuff support grid 10 according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention.FIG 6 shows that position of thefoodstuff support grid 10 in relationship to theside grid 30, when saidfoodstuff support grid 10 has been partially pulled out of the oven cavity. Therod section 22 of thefoodstuff support grid 10 is aligned at thefront embossing 28 of theside grid 30. Since thefoodstuff support grid 10 is marginally tilting, the pull-out stop acts. -
FIG 7 illustrates a detailed side view of thefront embossing 28 at theside grid 30 and therod section 22 at thefoodstuff support grid 10 according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention.FIG 7 clarifies that therod section 22 lies against thefront embossing 28, so that the interaction of therod section 22 and thefront embossing 28 forms the pull-out stop of thefoodstuff support grid 10. - In order to remove the
foodstuff support grid 10 from the oven cavity the pull-out stop may be overcome by drawing out saidfoodstuff support grid 10, wherein thefoodstuff support grid 10 has to be held in a substantially horizontal position by the user. Otherwise the pull-out stop acts, when thefoodstuff support grid 10 is tilting. - Although illustrative embodiments of the present invention has been described herein with reference to the accompanying drawings, it is to be understood that the present invention is not limited to that precise embodiment, and that various other changes and modifications may be affected therein by one skilled in the art without departing from the scope or spirit of the invention.
