Definitions
- the present invention relates to a machine and a method for wet cleaning, drying and smoothing of textiles, in particular laundry and clothing articles.
- a housing preferably a predominantly circular housing with an inner barrel, in which a plurality of carriers for hanging the textiles can be fastened, the barrel being driven by an electric motor to produce a lateral Rotatonic movement of the textiles.
- German published patent application DE 100 34658 A1 discloses a machine and a method in which the textiles are spread out in a drum, fastened and cleaned in this state.
- a high cleaning effect is achieved by repeatedly increasing the speed of the inner drum during the alternating wash and rinse cycles and then greatly reducing it.
- the drying process is carried out by the feeder of hot air into the drum interior. Due to the fastening method of the textiles, their smoothing is only moderately possible during the drying process and the cleaning process is also unsatisfactory due to the close-lying layers of fabric.
- German OS DE 101 28775 A1 proposes a method for smoothing clothes, in which a perforated steaming dummy is arranged as a clothes holder in a rotatable drum, into which air can be introduced through a hollow axis of the drum mounting.
- the disadvantage here is that only one item of clothing can be treated per washing, drying and smoothing process.
- the construction of the machine belonging to the method is complex and the connection between the fixed air supply and the rapidly rotating drum axis is highly susceptible to wear.
- the invention has for its object to improve a machine of the type mentioned in such a way that several items of clothing are cleaned, dried and smoothed simultaneously within a short time, the cleaning is more thorough and the smoothing is more complete, and that a reduction of the Energy consumption is achieved.
- the machine according to the invention for wet cleaning, smoothing and drying textiles, in particular laundry and clothing articles has in a preferred embodiment, a circular housing with an inner drum, in which several carriers for hanging textiles can be attached.
- the vertical axis of rotation of the running drum is fixedly connected concentrically to the motor shaft of an electric motor. Rotation of the motor shaft thus produces a lateral rotational movement of the textiles hanging inside the running drum.
- the textiles can be hung on the clothes drum on a clothes rack, while they are spread out, cleaned, dried and smoothed.
- the machine for wet cleaning and for smoothing clothes and laundry items in which they are spread out in a drum on the drum shell, fastened, washed, spun and dried by introducing air into the machine, on the outer shell comprising the drum an extension (22) in the tangential direction, or in a tangential direction parallel direction, which has a vent connection and at least one drain connection in the lower region, the rotation of the running drum being directed towards the tangential extension.
- the housing comprising the inner running drum has, in its bottom region, an outward extension in the form of an attachment, which has at least one connection for air, in particular for ventilation, and at least one drain connection.
- the extension of the housing is oriented in the same tangential direction or flow direction in which the textiles and the drum are accelerated.
- the invention results in an increase in air performance and prevents air droplets containing air from being drawn in by the running drum, since the air is pressed into the tangential extension and can escape upwards. Liquids collect within the extension from where they are can either run off or be vacuumed by a circulation pump and fed back into the washing process.
- the advantage of such a water return is that the liquid collected is not mixed with air, which means that the circulating pump used is more efficient, more powerful and less noisy.
- the cover part of the housing has a tube piece coaxial with the axis of rotation of the running drum, the lower opening of which is directed into a perforated central tube and the upper opening of which is connected to a fan for vertical supply of dry air. This ensures an optimal distribution of the dry air within the drum.
- the lower end of the center tube is closed and coaxially non-positively connected to the motor shaft of the electric motor, as a result of which the running drum can be set into a rotational movement when the electric motor is in operation.
- radial tubes emerge radially from the central tube, hereinafter referred to as radial tubes, through which the dry air can be distributed and fed to the items of clothing hanging on the clothes carriers.
- the ends of the radial tubes have sleeves that can be sealingly attached to the clothes racks and that allow effective air introduction.
- treatment media in particular detergents and fresh water
- treatment media can be introduced into the perforated center tube, which emerge from the center tube due to the centrifugal force when the running drum rotates and are applied to the clothing from the outside, while some of the treatment agents are passed through the radial tubes, so that the Garments can also be treated with treatment agents from the inside.
- the use of nozzles which always require cleaning for spraying such treatment media can thus be avoided, as a result of which the construction cost of the machine and its production costs can be kept low.
- the clothes carriers are designed as clothes hangers for hanging textiles, which can be covered with an elastic, air-permeable fabric.
- the clothes carriers also have means for directly absorbing the dry air guided over the radial tubes. This results in a particularly gentle and even drying of the garments, in which they are additionally smoothed.

- the running drum 1 is fixedly connected with its vertical axis of rotation concentrically to the motor shaft of an electric motor 8, whereby a lateral rotational movement of the textiles is achieved when the motor is operating.
- a lateral movement is understood to mean a sideways movement of the hanging textiles, which is caused by the rotation of the running drum 1.
- the running drum 1 has outlet openings 2 in the area of its largest diameter, through which treatment agents can pass outside the running drum.
- the housing 9 In its bottom area, the housing 9 has an outward extension 22 in the form of an attachment, which has at least one connection for air, in particular for ventilation, and at least one drain connection.
- the extension 22 of the housing 9 is oriented in the same tangential direction or direction of flow in which the textiles and the drum 1 are accelerated during their rotational movement.
- the cover part 10 of the housing 9 has a pipe section 12 coaxial with the axis of rotation of the running drum 1, the lower opening of which is directed into a perforated central pipe 3 and the upper opening of which is connected to the pressure side of a fan 13 for the vertical supply of dry air.
- the pipe section 12 also has connections for the introduction of fresh water 14 and detergent 15, in particular for liquid detergent, and a connection 16 for the return of the treatment agent into the center pipe 3 with the aid of a circulation pump 24.
- the central tube 3, into which heatable heating elements 17 are introduced, is closed at its lower end and connected coaxially to the motor shaft of the electric motor 8 in a force-locking manner.
- a plurality of radial tubes 21 emerge from the central tube 3, and cuffs 20 are provided at their ends are, which can be sealingly applied to the clothes carrier 18. This allows the dry air to be supplied to the garments in a targeted manner.
- the inner running drum 1 is connected to the central tube 3 via a plurality of support arms 4, to which the clothes carriers 18 can be attached. This achieves a high degree of stability in the rotating state of the running drum and largely reduces vibrations and the resulting noise development, rounding and / or deformations.
- treatment media in particular detergent and fresh water
- connections 14, 15 and 16 which emerge from the holes 5 of the central tube 3 as a result of the centrifugal force when the running drum 1 rotates and can be applied to the clothing from the outside ,
- the housing 9 has in the ceiling part 10 a loading opening which can be closed by a loading flap 11 and through which the items of clothing suspended on the clothes carriers 18 can be introduced into the running drum.
- Figure 2 shows a cross section of an embodiment of the invention with a circular housing 9 and with the extension 22 in the form of an extension.
- the extension 22 has a connection 23 with an exhaust pipe mounted thereon, as well as a connection for a circulating pump 24 and a connection for a liquor outlet 25.
- the circulating pump 24 can convey the liquors into the central pipe 3 via a valve 26 as well as via a valve 27 into a container 28 which is connected to the machine via a valve 29.
- the extension 22 is sealed with a cleaning flange 30.
- Figure 3 shows a further embodiment of the housing 9 of the underlying invention in plan view.
- the predominantly circular housing 9 is expanded tangentially by an outer jacket extension 31 such that the cross section of the housing shape is in the area the extension 22 forms approximately a right angle, at least one air connection 23 with an exhaust pipe being provided in the upper area of the outer jacket extension 31 and at least one water connection 25 for a liquor drain and at least one connection for a circulation pump 24 being provided in the lower area of the outer jacket extension 31.
- FIG. 4 shows a partial section of the machine according to the invention according to FIG. 1 in a side elevation.
- a circulation pump 24 and an exhaust pipe 23 are connected to the extension 22 of the housing 9.
- the circulation pump 24 conveys the fleet collecting in the extension 22 into the machine via a pipe 34.
- the pipe 34 opens into the pipe section 12 in the connection 16, with which the liquor can be introduced into the central pipe.
- a plurality of blades 32 and 33 are connected to the center tube, as a result of which the fan 13 shown in FIG. 1 can be saved. This significantly reduces costs and, in particular, the development of noise.
- the air heated by the heating elements 17 is passed through the wings 32, 33 of the central tube 3 in the direction of the inside of the barrel drum when the drum 1 rotates, whereby the clothing is acted upon by the heated air and the heated air at openings 2 in the lower region the drum 1 exits.
- the moisture contained in the dry air condenses on the outer drum shell and collects as a result of the centrifugal and gravitational force acting on the drops in the extension 22, from where it can be extracted.

- a sleeve 20 of a radial tube 21 can be attached to the opening 19.
- the clothes rack can be covered with a textile air and water permeable elastic fabric 19, which can inflate into the clothes rack 18 when dry air is introduced. When inflated, the textile fabric can take the form of a garment. In this state, the textile fabric can achieve even exposure of the textiles to liquids and air due to its air and water permeability.
- a garment 36 can be hung around the textile fabric 19, which in a preferred embodiment is also made of an air-permeable material.
- the textile fabric 19 By inflating the textile fabric 19 as a result of the dry air introduced into the clothes carrier, the garment 36 is subjected to a flat effect, which results in a smoothing of the garment.
- FIG. 6 shows a side elevation of the clothes carrier 8 with the item of clothing 36 and the attached sleeve 20, which can be sealingly connected to a radial tube 21.
- FIG. 7 shows a further partial view of the machine on which the invention is based, in a side elevation, fastening means 37 being provided for particularly long and / or for small items of clothing and / or laundry items.
- the running drum 1 in particular its inner jacket, has means 37 for fastening these textiles 36.
- These means 37 are preferably mounted in the upper region of the running drum 1 and designed as a clamping strip 37. Long items of clothing 36 can thus be turned over after hanging on the clothes carrier below the textile fabric 19 and can be fixed in the upper region of the running drum with the aid of the clamping strip 37. This allows the height of the drum to be limited so that loading and unloading is made easier.
- the fasteners can also serve to hold small items of clothing, especially underwear.
- the terminal block in this Design variant mounted on a pin 39 and is attracted by a compression spring 38. By pressing the bolt 39 in the direction of the axis of rotation, the compression spring 38 is compressed and the terminal block 37 is released for receiving textiles.
- the running drum 1 of the machine according to the invention can also be designed conically, opening upwards.
- the treatment media are conveyed upwards due to the centrifugal force acting on them.
- such a construction is structurally unstable and can lead to unwanted vibrations at high speeds, which put a heavy load on the connection points of the machine elements and on the machine elements themselves. To implement such an embodiment variant, however, considerable additional effort is required during manufacture.
- a method according to the invention for wet cleaning, drying and smoothing textiles, in particular laundry and clothing articles, is described below.
- the articles of clothing intended for treatment are hung outside the machine on the clothes hanger 18 and the textile fabric 19 and are hung on the support arms 4 after the loading flap 11 has been opened.
- the fan 13 then blows air through the tube section 12 into the center tube 3 and through the radial tubes 21 and the holes 5 of the center tube 3 from the inside and outside to the hanging garments. In this first treatment process, the clothing is dusted off.
- a washing liquor is produced in the center tube 3, which is conveyed through the radial tubes 21 and the holes 5 at a higher speed into and onto the clothing become.
- the washing liquor which is not absorbed by the textiles, reaches the widening 22, from where it is sucked off by means of the circulation pump 24 and fed back to the cleaning process by introduction into the central tube 3.
- the cleaning or washing of textiles, in particular items of clothing, is thereby carried out particularly gently.
- the washing liquor can be heated by the heating rods 17 during the circulation.
- the liquor can also be discharged into a container 28. This is preferably done at high speeds and via the open valve 27. Furthermore, at low speeds, it is advisable to return the washing liquor from the container 28 into the washing circuit via the opened valve 29. Both methods allow a particularly gentle cleaning of the textiles.
- the container 28 is also suitable for storing washing or rinsing liquors which can be used again in a next batch.
- the washing liquor absorbed by the textiles or the alkali-like water components is conveyed out of the textiles by centrifugal removal and fed back to the textiles by the circulating pump 24 at preferably low rotational speeds, whereby these absorb the alkali-like water components again. Repeating this process several times while maintaining the different speeds results in thorough cleaning. In a subsequent rinsing process with fresh water, detergents and detergents are removed from the textiles using the same process.
- the heating rods 17 arranged in the center tube 3 and the fan 12 are activated, as a result of which heated dry air can be supplied to the textiles. It is advantageous here if the running drum rotates at a high speed, so that the centrifugal effect on the textiles, the water contained in them is driven out. The heat is transferred to the clothing by the heated air and by the heat radiation emitted by the heated central tube 3. The efficiency is significantly higher with this method than with comparable methods, in which heating registers located outside the machine are used.
- air can be introduced into the clothes carriers before the drying cycle at low speed or when the running drum 1 is at a standstill, as a result of which the items of clothing are stretched and smoothed on account of the textile fabric which inflates through the air.
- the garments can be used during the slingshot .
- a vapor cushion forms between the water droplets and the textiles, which causes the water to lose its grip and, due to the centrifugal force, is pumped out of the textiles to a significantly higher percentage.
- a condensation drying of the textiles introduced into the running drum 1 of the machine on which the invention is based can be achieved by permanent circulation of the dry air inside the machine or without the dry air being drawn off by suction from the extension 22.
- the embodiment variant according to FIG. 4 of the machine is advantageous.
- the air heated by the heating elements 14 is directed by a rapid rotation of the running drum 1 with the wings 32, 33 attached to the center tube 3 to the textiles suspended in the running drum 1, where it absorbs moisture from the textiles.
- the air emerges from the openings 2 at the same time, sweeps over the colder walls of the housing 9 and is sucked in again by the open top drum 1 due to the negative pressure arising in the running drum 1.
- the moisture in the air condenses on the inside of the housing 9, the extension 22 of which absorbs the water.
- the condensed water can then be removed using the pump 24.
- This continuous air circulation removes more and more moisture from the dry air, which means that its moisture content decreases increasingly. A particularly gentle and due to the large-scale inner wall of the condenser drying is possible. It is also advantageous with this method that the heat of condensation given off by the heating rods can be used to heat the alkali for the next batch.
- the installation of a heat exchanger in the air flow is suitable for this.
