Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for producing a packaging filled with banana clusters.
- Bananas are still harvested green and immature in the countries of origin, then packaged and exported to the destination countries and matured there. When ripening on the plant, the bananas would burst and taste floury rather than sweet.
- the bananas are therefore harvested in whole banana tufts, the tufts are divided into units of several contiguous bananas, also referred to as fingers. These bundles of at least four fingers are also referred to as clusters.
- the hands are held together by the crown on the stem approach and the individual finger runs from the stalk approach in the crown to the flower end.
- bananas are transported in rectangular packaging standardized in the EU in their external dimensions. During transport, the bananas are cooled, as the temperature is below 14 ° C natural ripening is interrupted. The bananas are then placed in the packaging in special ripening chambers and matured there over several days to the desired degree of ripeness. The chambers are usually fumigated at the beginning of the ripening process with a nitrogen / ethylene mixture, wherein the proportion of ethylene is very low. The ripened bananas are brought to the point of sale in the packaging and presented there either in the packaging or cluster-wise on the shelf.
- Corresponding packaging for the transport of bananas and a method of packaging are from the EP 0 792 236 B1 known.
- the bananas are stacked by hand in an outer container, the banana clusters are placed with the crowns down on the bottom of the package.
- An additional transport protection makes it possible to put on a first row of clusters another series of clusters with the crowns down.
- the known packages for transporting bananas have the disadvantage that the fruits are always placed with the crowns down in the package. This leads to the presentation of the bananas in the packaging, that the Consumers can only recognize the banana back and thus on the one hand can not see how many fingers on the respective crown hang, that is, how big the cluster is. On the other hand, the banana label, which is glued to the front of the individual fingers, is not recognizable to the consumer, so that he can not assign the bananas to a particular supplier.
- Traditional banana cartons also consist of a bottom carton and a lid.
- the transport takes place in the unprinted sub-carton while the advertising imprint and the manufacturer's information are on the lid.
- the lid is usually removed during the presentation at the point of sale, so that the visually unappealing bottom carton remains on the shelf without any indication of the supplier.
- the object of the invention is to provide a method for packing bananas in a package and subsequently for the transport and presentation of bananas, which avoid the described disadvantages of the prior art and in particular a presentation of the bananas with upwardly facing crowns in a package allowed with imprint.
- the object is achieved according to the invention by a method for producing a packaging filled with banana clusters according to claim 1.
- step F.1. additionally in a step F.2. folded the ends of the transport protection over the first layer banana clusters.
- the process steps are preferably run through exactly in the entire order.
- the packaging for transporting and presenting bananas comprises a rectangular inner packaging, a rectangular outer packaging and a plastic bag arranged in the inner packaging.
- the inner packaging has four walls arranged rectangular to one another and a bottom, wherein the floor in the middle has a rectangular opening and at the edge of the floor near the side walls are at least two engagement holes.
- the rectangular outer packaging also has four walls arranged at right angles to one another and a bottom, the outer packaging being dimensioned in such a way that it encloses these in a form-fitting manner over the inner packaging.
- the inner packaging and the outer packaging are preferably made of cardboard or corrugated board, more preferably made of single-ply corrugated board.
- the arranged in the inner packaging plastic bag has a perforation, which once circulates parallel to the bag bottom the entire bag circumference.
- the bag has a conventional bag shape, i. a closed bottom and an opening to the top, wherein the bag is preferably made of an endless tube and the bottom is closed by welding.
- Particularly preferred is the plastic bag made of polyethylene.
- the inner packaging is filled with the ground down and the side walls up with banana clusters.
- the banana clusters are placed with the crowns and the banana tips down to the ground in a first position, the fingers are parallel to the short side walls of the inner packaging.
- two parallel rows of banana clusters are thus produced.
- the transport protection which is preferably made of paper or cardboard, is placed on the bottom of the packaging.
- the transport protection is at least so large that it completely covers the opening in the bottom of the inner packaging, preferably the transport protection is so large that it extends from a side wall to the parallel side wall. In the direction perpendicular thereto, the transport protection is preferably so large that it protrudes spread over the side walls of the inner packaging.
- the plastic bag is arranged in the inner packaging and the first layer of bananas is located inside the plastic bag.
- the Ends of the transport protection are preferably folded over the first layer of banana clusters, so that it is still outside the bag and then preferably a second layer of banana clusters is arranged in parallel on the first layer of banana clusters within the bag, so that the transport protection partially between the first Location banana cluster and the second location banana cluster comes to rest.
- the plastic bag is closed above the second layer of banana clusters.
- the upper end of the plastic bag is summarized, folded and closed, for example, with a rubber band.
- the packaging according to the invention is still rotated at the packing location, so that the outer packaging forms the bottom, which carries the bananas.
- the inner packaging acts as a lid.
- the inner packaging is pulled out of the outer packaging, leaving the banana clusters in the outer packaging as the bottom.
- the perforation on the plastic bag which separates it into an upper part and a lower part, preferably runs parallel to the bottom of the inner packaging and completely surrounds the plastic bag.
- the outer packaging is placed, which surrounds this form-fitting.
- the outer packaging preferably has ventilation holes in one or more of the side walls and / or in the bottom, which provide adequate ventilation of the bananas during transport.
- the outer packaging may in particular be printed, for example with the usual advertising imprint and with information about the supplier and the contents of the packaging.
- the inner packaging forms the lid.
- the inner packaging is removed.
- the inner packaging preferably has at least two engaging holes arranged opposite one another in the bottom of the inner packaging.
- the transport protection is also removed for presentation.
- the plastic bag is pulled up and separated along the perforation from the bottom of the bag.
- the bananas are now ready for sale in the printed outer packaging, with the lower part of the plastic bag between outer packaging and bananas.
- the filling of the packaging according to the invention is carried out according to the following process for producing a packaging filled with banana clusters:
- step F.3. After introducing the second layer banana cluster according to step F, from step F.1. and possibly F.2., is preferably still a step F.3. performed in which the open end of the plastic bag is summarized, folded and closed with a fastening tape.
- a fastening tape for example rubber bands, pieces of bastards or other known closures can be used.
- the closed end of the plastic bag is placed flat on the top layer of the bananas before it is closed in accordance with step G with the rectangular outer packaging. After turning the packaging, the originally open end of the bag is thus placed on the ground under the bananas and the bananas are packed closed at the top.
- a first layer of banana clusters can also be packed from a number of clusters on which the second layer of banana clusters of two rows of clusters is then placed.
- the transport protection used in the packaging process is preferably so large that it extends from a side wall to the parallel side wall of the inner packaging and preferably protrudes beyond the side walls of the inner packaging in the direction perpendicular thereto.
- top and bottom are used relative to each other. Under below is understood in the context of the invention in each case directed to the ground.
- the method according to the invention has the advantage that the bananas are transported and presented in a packed manner in accordance with this method; at the point of sale with the label upwards and thus the customer can easily recognize the supplier.
- the crowns upwards it is easy for the customer to see the size of the banana cluster and he can easily remove a banana cluster of the desired size.
- This has the advantage that the bananas in the packaging suffer less damage during the sale because the customer can buy on sight and does not first have to raise different fruits to determine the size of the cluster.
- the upper layer is sold out, the underlying lower layer with the crowns upwards is easily recognizable.
- the presentation of the bananas is still appealing to the customer, even with half-empty cardboard.
- a rectangular outer packaging 3 to be recognized has four walls 8a, b, c, d arranged at right angles to one another and a bottom 9.
- ventilation holes 13 can be seen.
- FIG. 1b is Furthermore, to see the inner package 2, of four mutually perpendicular walls 4a, b, c, d and a bottom 5.
- the opening 6 is preferably not greater than 20% of the total floor area , Particularly preferably, it is arranged centrally in the ground, rectangular and does not have more than 15% of the total floor area in order to ensure a corresponding stability of the inner packaging 2.
- the bottom of the inner packaging 2 also has two mutually opposite engagement holes 7, on which the carton can be pulled out of the outer packaging 3.
- FIG. 2 As in FIG. 2 can be seen, enclosed in the packed state, the outer walls 8a, b, c, d of the outer packaging 3, the walls 4a, b, c, d of the inner packaging 2 completely.
- the outer wall 8a is here bent outwardly to reveal the wall 4a of the inner packaging 2.
- the packaging according to the invention is in FIG. 2 already been turned so that the outer packaging serves as a container and carrier for the bananas.
- the banana clusters lie on the bottom of the outer packaging and are enclosed by the plastic bag 10, see FIG. 3 .
- the transport protection 12 On top of the banana clusters and between the banana clusters is the transport protection 12, which may also have ventilation holes 14.
- the transport protection extends from the side wall 8b to the parallel side wall 8c.
- ventilation holes 13 In the sidewall 8a of the outer packaging 3, ventilation holes 13 are arranged. Basically, 9 ventilation holes can be arranged in all side walls 8a, b, c, d and in the bottom, but these are shown here only as an example in the side walls 8a, 8b.
- the bananas are in the plastic bag 10 between outer packaging and transport protection.
- the plastic bag can be carefully pulled between the banana clusters and separated by a jerk along the perforated line 15 into two parts.
- the upper part 16 is removed while the bananas come to lie in the lower part 17 of the plastic bag.
- FIG. 4 a ready-packed banana wrapper is shown before rotation in the packing station. The transport takes place in the outer packaging 3 and the bananas are transported here with the crowns up. Top is the packaging in FIGS. 4 completed by the form-fitting over the inner packaging arranged outer packaging 3.
- FIG. 5 shows the ready-packed banana packaging after the rotation in the packing station. It can be seen that the bananas are now no longer with their tips and crowns down inside the packaging, but lie with the outer sides of the outer fruits of a banana cluster on the packaging.
