Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a cabinet or chest-like household appliance, in particular a refrigerator, with interior lighting and a lighting assembly for such a household appliance.
  • the interior lighting of a refrigerator such as a refrigerator, freezer or freezer is controlled by a mechanical switch that is embedded in the body of the device on its open side to be actuated by opening or shooting the device door or flap to become and so a light source in the interior of the device automatically when opening the door and off when you close it.
  • the need to attach the switch or at least a slide to actuate it on the door-facing open side of the body, while the light source is advantageously placed deeper in the interior of the household appliance, requires a spatial separation of the switch and light source, so that both have to be assembled in separate work steps with a correspondingly high amount of work.
  • the object of the present invention is to provide a household appliance and a lighting module for a household appliance which remedy the disadvantages mentioned above.
  • a light sensor such as. B. a photodiode or a phototransistor for setting the operating state of the light source for illuminating the interior, as defined in claim 1, allows the complete absence of moving parts. The control of the interior lighting is therefore practically wear and maintenance free.
  • the light sensor is arranged in the interior of the household appliance, so that it is inevitably cut off from the ambient light when the door is closed. Since such a light sensor is not necessarily cut off from the light generated by the light source itself, a timer is expediently provided for switching off the light source after a predetermined operating time. When this timer becomes effective with the door closed, the light sensor stops receiving light and the light source remains off.
  • the light sensor can be arranged such that it is cut off from the light of the light source when the door is closed. In this case, a timer for switching the light source off is not required.
  • a delay element can be provided for delayed switching of the interior lighting after detection of a change in the state of the door, so that a user can observe the switching process and can ensure that the interior lighting is not constantly switched on.
  • the household appliance can also be equipped with an operating mode selector switch which allows switching between automatic control of the light source by the light sensor and at least one further operating mode in which the light source is switched on or off independently of the light detected by the light sensor is. This may be desirable if the ambient light in the surroundings of the household appliance is so strong that additional lighting of the interior is not necessary, or if the door of the household appliance is opened in the dark and the light sensor does not respond.
  • the present invention therefore also relates to a lighting module for a household appliance with a light source and a light sensor, which is set up to switch on the light source when it detects light.
  • a timer for switching the light source off again after a predetermined switch-on time is preferably also part of the lighting assembly.

It differs from that of FIG. 1 in that the photodiode 12 does not receive light via the light guide 7, but rather through a window 17, which is in the opaque housing part 6 on its side facing away from the screen 5 and the Door opening facing side is formed. 3, the lighting module 4 is arranged in the immediate vicinity of the closed door 2, so that the door 2 shields the window 17 from light from the light source 14 in the closed state, the inner structure shown in FIG Lighting assembly 4 is also suitable in this embodiment.

  • a mode selector switch 20 has three switch positions, a position a in which it connects the emitter of transistor 15 to ground potential, an unconnected switch position b and a switch position c in which it connects the collector of transistor 13 to ground.
  • the photodiode 12 As long as the cooling cabinet door 2 is closed and the light source 14 is off, that is to say the photodiode 12 is not receiving any light, it blocks it, and ground potential is present at the input of the time switching element 18. Accordingly, the output of the timer and thus the base of the transistor 15 is at ground, it blocks, and in the position a of the mode selector switch 20 shown, the light source 14 thus remains switched off.
  • the time switching element 18 again provides ground potential at its output, the transistor 15 returns to the blocking state, and the light source 14 is switched off.
  • the potential at the collector of transistor 15 thus rises abruptly to the value of the supply voltage, and a positive voltage pulse reaches transistor 19 via capacitor 21, so that it becomes conductive for a short time and short-circuits capacitor 13.
  • the input signal of the timer 18 is thus pulled to ground.
  • the transistor 19 begins to block again. If at this point in time the door 2 is still open and ambient light falls on the photodiode 12, the timer 18 is triggered again after a slight delay. That is, as long as the door 2 is open and ambient light falls on the photodiode 12, the works Light source 14 continuously with short interruptions. These interruptions remind a user that the door 2 should be closed again in order to avoid unnecessary cold losses.
  • a similar behavior can be implemented with the circuit shown as a block diagram in FIG. 5.
  • the capacitor 13 is replaced here by a resistor 22, a series resistor 23 is inserted between the photodiode and the positive supply potential, and the collector of the transistor 19 is not connected to the input of the timing switch 18, but to the center point between the series resistor 23 and Photo diode 12.
  • the incidence of light on the photodiode 12 immediately leads to a voltage drop across the resistor 22 and thus to the triggering of the switching element 18 and the switching on of the light source 14.
  • the resulting voltage rise at its collector is transmitted via capacitor 21 as a positive voltage pulse to the base of transistor 19.
  • transistor 19 short-circuits photodiode 12 and resistor 22, so that the potential at the input of the timer 18 drops to ground. If the transistor 19 blocks again after the capacitor 21 has been charged, the potential at the input of the time switching element 18 rises again if ambient light continues to fall on the photodiode 12 and the light source 14 is switched on again. If there is no more ambient light, the light source 14 remains switched off.
