  7. Vehicle door latch according to one of the claims 1 to 6, characterized in that the coupling element (12) contains a seat (13) for the one partial lever (3a).
  8. Vehicle door latch according to one of the claims 1 to 7, characterized in that the operating lever (3a, 3b) pivots the locking lever (4, 5) during a first stroke, whilst the locking lever (4, 5) is in the locking position, in such a way that it engages the coupling element (12) in the two partial levers (3a, 3b) and in that during a second stroke, the operating lever (3a, 3b) acts upon the mechanically connected partial lever (3a, 3b) to open the locking mechanism (1, 2).
