Definitions

  • Such a movement is described in the document WO 99/35542 . It is arranged in a box with a central hole, which gives the watch a particular appearance.
  • the display is realized by means of two superimposed disks, one provided with an internal toothing and displaying the hours, the other of external toothing and displaying the minutes, and both driven by sprockets belonging to one of the wheels of the movement.
  • the clockwork comprises a timer wheel comprising a wheel and a pinion, a roadway driven by the timer wheel and intended to carry a minute hand, and a pinion wheel driven by the pinion. timer and intended to carry an hour hand.
  • the roadway and the barrel wheel are concentric to the frame and have a central opening substantially equal to d, and the timer wheel has a diameter slightly less than (D - d) / 2.
  • timepieces there are certainly timepieces in which the timer wheel is large in relation to the surface of the dial, extending substantially to the periphery of the movement. This is the case in the room represented in the document US 1,949,024 , in which a timepiece movement, apparently a pendulum, is very schematically represented to explain the operation of an original type display. In this timepiece, the center of the movement is closed, and occupied by the shaft of the center wheel, which makes one turn per hour.
  • the work train comprises a mobile of large average equipped with a tigeron on which the mobile timer is mounted friction.
  • the correction means of the display means comprise a return which meshes directly with the roadway.
  • the annular shape of the frame makes it possible to arrange the mobiles of the finishing gear train so that their axes of rotation are substantially arranged on a circle of diameter equal to (D + d) / 2.
  • Such a solution is particularly well suited to movements of the mechanical type, in which the energy source is formed of a cylinder, the base time of a pendulum, the counting device of an exhaust, the cylinder and the pendulum pivoting on axes substantially disposed on this circle.
  • the central opening allows many uses, for example the display of additional information.
  • the movement comprises a date mechanism, disposed on the side opposite the dial, comprising two display disks, one of the tens, the other units, the date appearing in the opening. It is thus possible to display the date with particularly large numbers.
  • the roadway and the barrel wheel each comprise a tubular portion, one engaged in the other, the tubular portion of the roadway being positioned in the central opening, so as to to be able to turn freely.
  • the mobile timer and the teeth of the roadway and the barrel wheel are arranged on the bottom side of the frame.
  • the tubular portion of the roadway is defined by an inside diameter and an outside diameter, the outside diameter being slightly smaller than d, so that it can rotate freely in the opening while the tubular portion of the wheel barrel is defined by an outside diameter slightly smaller than the inside diameter of the tubular portion of the roadway, so that the barrel wheel can rotate freely.
  • tubular portion of the barrel wheel as housing to an object, which may have a technical function, such as a lens or a compass, or aesthetic, such as a gem.
  • the mobile timer and the teeth of the roadway and the barrel wheel are arranged on the dial side of the frame.
  • the tubular portion of the roadway is defined by its outside diameter, a first portion of which is engaged in the opening, the outer diameter being slightly smaller than d so that it can turn freely in the opening, and a second part disposed outside the opening and intended to carry the minute hand, and on which is engaged the cannon wheel.
  • tubular portion of the roadway as a housing for receiving an object, which may have a technical function such as a lens or a compass, or aesthetic such as a gem.
  • the frame 10 has an annular shape, with an outside diameter D and an inside diameter d which defines a central opening 48. It is dimensioned so that D is slightly greater than 3d, typically between 3.1d. and 3,3d.
  • the winding and setting mechanism 46 comprises a time setting rod 50 intended to be manipulated from outside the watch, a sliding pinion, not visible in the drawing, a winding pinion 52, the latter being mounted on the rod 50, and a winding gear 54 comprising a crown wheel and a ratchet wheel and which connects the winding pinion to the barrel 16 to arm the spring that comprises the latter ( Figure 1).
  • the mechanism 46 further comprises two links 56 and 58 shown in FIG. 2, in engagement with each other and meshing respectively with the sliding pinion and with the roadway 38, as well as a pull rod, a rocker and a jumping bridge, which have not been referenced because not directly participating in the invention.
  • the pivot axes of the barrel 16, the mobiles of the finishing gear train 26 and the escapement 20, as well as the balance 18 are substantially arranged on a circle C whose diameter ⁇ is substantially equal to (D + d) / 2. All these mobiles are placed on the side platinum dial 12. They are held in place by one or more bridges that have not been shown. This particular arrangement makes it possible to make visible, beneath the dial, the components of the watch that have the most attractive aesthetic characteristics.
  • the pinion of medium 28b is engaged in the plate 12 and has a rod 28c, which protrudes from the latter and on which the timer wheel 36 is mounted by its pinion 36b.
  • the latter tubular in shape, includes a lantern 36c which cooperates with the tibernum 28c to ensure a friction connection. This configuration causes the timer wheel 36 to rotate with the medium wheel 28, except during the time setting, the timer gear 36b then sliding on the rod 28c because of the friction link.
  • the roadway 38 comprises a tubular portion 38a, whose outside diameter is slightly smaller than the inside diameter of the opening 48, so that it can rotate freely there and whose length is sufficient to pass through the frame 10 and exceed a height allowing the hunting of the minute hand 40.
  • the barrel wheel 42 also comprises a tubular portion 42a whose outside diameter is slightly smaller than the inside diameter of the portion 38a, so that the barrel wheel can be engaged in the pavement and rotate freely therein.
  • the portion 42a is high enough to protrude from the portion 38a and allow the attachment of the hour hand 44.
  • the minute hand 40 performs one turn per hour and the hour of a turn in 12 hours. This means that the teeth of the timer wheel 36, the roadway 38 and the cannon wheel 42 must be numbered so that the gear ratio is equal to 1/12.
  • the opening 48 has a diameter d substantially equal to D / 3, it means that the width of the annular portion is substantially equal to d , which corresponds to the radially available space for housing the timer wheel 36a.
  • the timer wheel 36a and the roadway 38 have the same diameter.
  • FIGS. 4 and 5 makes use of most of the components described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 3, these components bearing the same references. In this case, however, both the gear wheel 26 and the timer 34 are arranged on the dial side.
  • the medium gear 36b pivots between the plate 12 and a bridge 60 visible only in FIG.
  • the roadway 38 also comprises a tubular portion 38a, formed of two distinct parts.
  • the first part which extends towards the bottom side, is engaged in the opening 48.
  • the second part which protrudes from the face of the frame on the dial side, constitutes a support for the minute hand 40.
  • the cannon wheel is also provided with a tubular portion 42a; but disposed on and surrounding the tubular portion 38a of the roadway in its second part, and not engaged in the opening 48, as described in the first embodiment.
  • Such a variant makes it possible to place the hours 44 and 40 hands in a conventional manner.
  • the diameter thereof may be slightly larger.
  • the opening 48 is simply left empty, and the box 61 is provided with a bottom 62 made by means of a glass, so that it is possible to see through the shows in its central part.
  • the opening 48 may also serve as a receptacle for an object, as illustrated in FIGS. 7 to 9. Depending on whether the movement corresponds to the first or second embodiment described above, this object will be housed either in the tubular portion 42a. the barrel wheel, or in the tubular portion 38a of the timer.
  • the object associated with the watch shown in FIG. 7 is a compass 64, which rotates with the wheel whose tubular portion serves as a housing.
  • the bottom 62 may be opaque.
  • FIG. 8 uses the tubular portion serving as a housing for receiving a gem 66, for example a diamond or a zircon.
  • a gem 66 for example a diamond or a zircon.
  • Such a solution gives the watch an appearance of jewel, while keeping a great sobriety.
  • the bottom 62 of the box 61 at least in its central part, be transparent. This contributes to the brightness of the gem.
  • Figure 9 shows a watch in which the bottom 62 carries an image 68, which can be enlarged by means of a magnifying lens 70 carried by the tubular portion 38a or 42a.
  • Figure 10 relates to a watch similar to that of Figure 9, the image being replaced by a display 72 of the calendar with a large window.
  • This display is achieved by means of two disks 74 and 76 displaying one the units and the other tens, these two disks being driven by a mechanism such as that described in the patent CH 310,559 for example.
  • the energy source is a battery or accumulator
  • the timebase a quartz
  • the counting device an electronic circuit and a stepper motor.
  • the basic components of the movement occupy essentially the portion of the frame 10 between 3 and 9 hours.
  • the other parts of this frame 10 can serve as support for other mechanisms such as a repetition, a chronograph, etc. It would also be possible to arrange the finishing gear 26 and timer 34 on the bottom side and to place a disk display device on the dial side, displaying for example the day and the date.
