- Two loops of the double rope 48 are housed in the slots 18, 20 of the descending belay device 10, and a first carabiner 50 crosses the two loops and the loop 40, being attached to the ring 52 of the harness 54 belonging to the second of rope.
- One of hands 56 of the second of the rope hold the upper strands of the rope connected at the first of the rope, while the other hand 58 surrounds the lower strands.
- the second opening 42 of the flange 14 is not used in this mode belay.
- the second of rope tightens the lower strands with his hand 58 while straining the rope 48 in the direction of arrow F2. This results in jamming of the loops cord on the bosses 39 of the sockets 36, 38, and a blockage of the strands rope superiors 48.
- the second of the rope climbs, and is provided by the first of the rope which is found above, including a relay.

- the apparatus 10 is used as in the case of FIGS. 5 and 6, but in the direction of descent. He then behaves like a descender with the first carabiner 50 attached to the harness 54. To brake or stop the downward movement, just pull more or less vigorously on the rope with the hand 56 as we do in a classic way with single descenders.
- An additional reminder security element 64 can be adapted on the lower strands, and controlled by the other hand 58.
