  12. Device according to claim 1, characterised in that the hook (4, 5) is attached freely as a hook stub to the traverse shaft (8) near the lower vertex of the hook (4, 5).
  13. Device according to any one of claims 1 to 12, characterised in that the hook (4, 5) is attached as a short hook stub to the traverse shaft (8).
  14. Device according to any one of claims 1 to 13, characterised in that pins (14, 15) and receiving bores (16) are provided on the lateral blocks (6) for centring adjacent frames (1).
  15. Device according to claim 14, characterised in that the pins (14) are cylindrical and exhibit a conical tip (17) with a shoulder (18).
  16. Device according to claim 15, characterised in that a slotted or closed spacing sleeve (19) may be placed on the pin (14).
  17. Device according to claim 14, characterised in the pins (15) are disc-shaped and comprise a safety rail (21) at the tip (20).
  18. Device according to claim 17, characterised in that a U-shaped distancing disc (22) may be placed on the pin (15).
  19. Device according to any one of claims 1 to 18, characterised in that the lateral block (6) comprises a torque support (23, 24).
  20. Device according to claim 1, characterised in that the ends of the lateral braces (7) comprise protruding noses (25) as a torque support (24) for providing support on a frame (1) arranged downstream.
  21. Device according to any one of claims 1 to 20, characterised in that conveyor chain bearing surfaces (26) are provided on the lateral blocks (6).
  22. Device according to any one of claims 2 to 21, characterised in that the overall length of the crosshead (9) is approximately 800 mm, 1200 mm or 2400 mm.
  23. Device according to any one of claims 1 to 22, characterised in that the receiving groove (10) for a gripper (31) or a fork is arranged on the inside of the lateral block (6).
  24. Device according to any one of claims 1 to 23, characterised in that the lateral block (6) is constructed from two L-shaped supports (32) which form a stacking pocket (33).
  25. Device according to claim 24, characterised in that a guide shelf (34) and a lateral shaft comprising a collar (35) are provided laterally on the outside of one support (32).
  26. Device according to any one of claims 1 to 25, characterised in that the hook (4, 5) exhibits a straight or slightly curved hook opening.
  27. Device according to any one of claims 1 to 26, characterised in that sealing elements (36) are arranged on the lateral blocks (6) in the conveying direction of the frames (1).
  28. Device according any one of claims 2 to 27, characterised in that a curved shaft (37) cooperating with a curved path or stopping elements is provided on the outer hook braces (7, 11) for adjusting the angle of inclination of the crosshead (9).
  29. Device according to claim 16, characterised in that the spacing sleeves (19) are configured in a snapping self-locking manner.
  30. Device according to either claim 16 or claim 29, characterised in that the spacing sleeve (19) is released automatically at a specific tilt angle of the crosshead (9).
  31. Device according to any one of claims 1 to 30, characterised in that the lateral block (6', 6", 6"') has an open construction without cavities and in that in the congested conveying state, the frames (1) are secured using a separate element (48, 46) such as pins, rods, wires, chains, ropes or the like.

  34. Device according to claim 33, characterised in that a safety shaft (46) extending in the conveying direction (53) is arranged so as to extend through the opening (54) formed by the legs (55, 56) of the lateral block (6"), the transverse pin (47) and the crosshead (9).
  35. Device according to any one of claims 2 to 34, characterised in that the lateral block (6") comprises a circular tube (57) extending in the conveying direction (53) and having an approximately horizontally extending flat bar (58) attached thereto and the crosshead (9) is attached to the circular tube (57).
  36. Device according to claim 35, characterised in that the safety shaft (46) is arranged inside the circular tube (57).
  37. Device according to any one of claims 1 to 36, characterised in that an arm (61) protruding laterally beyond the lateral block (6') is arranged so as to oppose the upper horizontal leg (59), which arm comprises at its end a vertical socket pin (62), engages with a sleeve (63), which is attached to the lateral block (6'), of a frame (1) arranged upstream or downstream.
  38. Device according to claim 37, characterised in that a further arm (64) comprising a further socket pin (65) is provided on the lateral brace (7), which arm engages with a perforated disc (66) on the lateral block (6') of a frame (1) upstream or downstream.
  39. Device according to either claim 37 or claim 38, characterised in that the first lateral arm (61) is arranged on the vertical leg (52) of the lateral block (6') and the shortened socket pin (62') engages with a shortened sleeve (63').
  40. Method for positioning, handling and conveying components for surface finishing, for example in a dipping bath, during galvanising, painting or powder coating, the components being suspended from a frame, characterised in that the frame (1) comprises lateral blocks (6), on which lateral braces (7), which are connected at their end by means of a transverse shaft (8), to which the hooks (4, 5) are attached, are arranged, and in that the components (2, 3) suspended from the hooks (4, 5) are locked during congested conveying by the transverse shaft (8), which extends near the lower vertex (30) of the hooks (4, 5), of a frame (1) arranged upstream or downstream in the transporting direction.
  41. Method according to claim 40, characterised in that lateral blocks (6) are connected by means of a crosshead (9), and the braces (7) are attached to the crosshead (9).
  42. Method for positioning, handling and conveying components for surface finishing, for example in a dipping bath, during galvanising, painting or powder coating, the components being suspended from a frame, characterised in that the frame (1) comprises lateral blocks (6), which are connected by means of a crosshead (9), a bracing comprising braces (11) being arranged between each hook (4, 5) and the crosshead (9), and the hooks (4, 5) being arranged at the ends of the brace (11) such that the tips of the hooks (4, 5) are in contact or overlap with the hook backs or legs (12) of the following frame (1), and the components (2, 3) suspended from hooks (4, 5) being locked onto the hook (4, 5) during congested conveying by a frame (1) arranged upstream or downstream in the transporting direction.
