Unter dem Begriff

Figure 00010001
Under the term

Tobacco articles "are understood primarily to mean cigarettes, but the invention is also applicable to other rod-shaped tobacco articles, for example cigarillos or the like.
In the manufacture of cigarette packs in packaging machines, block-shaped formations of cigarettes, also called cigarette blocks, are wrapped with wrapping material / packaging material, a so-called inner wrapper made of paper laminated with metal being almost always first wrapped around the cigarette blocks. However, the cigarette block can also be inserted into prefabricated inner wraps. Then a so-called collar is placed on so-called hinged-lid boxes. The inside wrap with the cigarettes is finally surrounded by an outside wrap made of paper or cardboard. Errors can occur in the production of groups of cigarette blocks with and without a collar, which are encased in internal wraps. Such faulty groups are removed from the packaging machine and fed to a separation arrangement in which wrapping material and cigarettes are separated from one another. The tobacco present in the cigarettes can then be added to the fresh tobacco to produce new cigarettes.
The invention has for its object to provide a new way of separating cigarettes and surrounding envelopes, preferably internal ones.
The method according to the invention consists in moving groups, each consisting of cigarettes and wrapping material, against an impact surface on which a separation takes place as a result of the impact, and that the cigarettes and the wrapping material are subsequently removed separately.
The preferably faulty groups can be pneumatically, for. B. by suction, against the baffle. It is also within the scope of the invention, the groups in other ways, for. B. mechanically to fling against the impact surfaces. As a result of the impact on the impact surface, the groups consisting of cigarette blocks and the surrounding wrapping material (preferably internal wraps with and without a collar) are blown up, thereby causing the separation of cigarettes and wraps. Then the cigarettes and the wrapping material are separated. For this purpose, in a further embodiment of the invention, the flow velocity of the air after the impact can preferably be reduced by increasing the effective cross section such that the cigarettes of a group sink downward after the impact, while the wrapping material is removed upward by the air. On their way down, the cigarettes can be guided by a guide surface.

The impact material initially conveyed upwards by the flowing air can sink downwards through a shaft. Both components of the groups, i.e. both the cigarettes and the wrapping material, are placed in separate containers at the end of the separation process.
According to the invention, the separation is advantageously carried out in a packaging machine following the production of defective groups, preferably consisting of cigarette blocks and inner wraps and / or collars enveloping them. The air for moving the groups against the impact surface can advantageously be conveying air, through which defective groups are conveyed from the packaging machine to the separating arrangement.

The arrangement according to the invention described at the outset is characterized by an impact surface against which groups, each consisting of cigarettes and wrapping material, are moved, and on which a separation takes place as a result of the impact.
In a further embodiment of the invention, air, preferably suction air, can serve as drive means for moving the groups against the impact surface. For the final separation of the separated cigarettes and the wrapping material, the latter are transported in a further embodiment of the invention on separate discharge conveyors and are advantageously placed in separate collecting containers. For this purpose, according to the invention, the impact surface can be followed by a viewing zone in which the flow velocity of the air is reduced, preferably by increasing the effective cross section, in such a way that the cigarettes sink downwards while the wrapping material is removed with the air. In particular, on the lower part of their path, the cigarettes can be guided downwards by means of a guide surface. In a further embodiment of the invention, the wrapping material / packaging material can first be conveyed upwards by the flowing air and then sink downwards through a channel.

The collecting containers holding cigarettes and packaging material are advantageously designed as removable drawers. In order not to disturb the separation and sifting of further supplied groups during the removal, according to a preferred development of the invention, a shut-off means is provided for separating the containers from the conveying and sifting air flow.
The impact surface is advantageously arranged downstream of a packaging machine for cigarettes. In particular, faulty groups, preferably consisting of cigarette blocks and inner envelopes and / or collars enveloping them, are fed to it. The conveying air for feeding defective groups can simultaneously be used to move the groups against the impact surface.

The invention has the advantage that the separation process of cigarettes and Packaging material, especially of internal wraps, very simple and reliable is. The conveying air for feeding faulty groups can be very advantageously both for moving the groups against the baffle for the subsequent viewing and separation of the separated group components be used.

The invention is explained in more detail using an exemplary embodiment:

Defective groups 2, each consisting of a cigarette block 3, an inner wrap 4 made of paper laminated with metal and a collar 6, pass through a pipeline 1, from a packaging machine 7 known per se via a deflection arrangement 8 with a funnel 9 and via a further pipeline 11 to a separating arrangement 12. So-called hinged-lid boxes, of which the groups form two parts, are produced in the packaging machine 7, which is known per se and is not shown in detail. If fault sensors in the packaging machine detect faulty groups 2, they are transferred into the pipeline 1, from which they reach the separation arrangement 12 by means of suction air as the conveying medium.
The separating arrangement 12 has a housing 13 with an inlet 15 and two collecting containers 14 and 16, into which the cigarettes 17 and the wrapping material 4, 6 are placed. The suction air flow through the pipes 1 and 11 is generated by a vacuum source 18, which is connected to the interior of the housing 13 via an outlet 19 and a pipe 21. A sieve for holding packaging material is shown at 22. In the supplied groups 2, the cigarette blocks 3 are initially relatively firmly surrounded by the packaging material 4 and 6, so that a certain force is required for an automatic separation. This force is generated by the kinetic energy with which the groups 2 are brought up in the suction air flow. In the conveyor path of groups 2 there is a baffle in the form of a baffle plate 23, against which the groups 2 are moved, whereby they burst open or are blown open, so that the cigarette blocks 3 are broken down into individual cigarettes 17 and the packaging material 4, 6 is separated. A separation zone 24 is used for the separation of cigarettes and packaging material, in which the cigarettes 17 sink as a result of the reduction in air speed due to the enlarged flow cross section and are guided downwards from a sliding surface 26 into the collecting container 14. The larger-area packaging material components, in the example inner folds 4 and collar 6, are conveyed up by the suction air flow flowing to outlet 19 on a separate discharge path and reach a channel 27 in which the wrapping material sinks down and arrives in the collecting container 16. The collecting containers 14 and 16 are advantageously designed as drawers. With the drawer 14, the cigarettes 17 can be removed and supplied to known tear-open arrangements for the recovery of the tobacco. The packaging material 4, 6 can be removed with the container 16 and disposed of. Before the removal of cigarettes or packaging material, a gate valve 28 is moved over the respective container 14 or 16, so that the container is shut off from the system arranged above with the flow of conveying and classifying air. The cigarettes or the packaging material can then be removed with the containers without having to interrupt the separation and viewing process.

With the invention, cigarette blocks are also made of other packaging materials separable as indicated in the examples. It is also possible to have different types Smoke sticks such as cigarillos or the like from their packaging material or parts separate from it.
