Description
The invention relates to a cross strut for a folding wheelchair, with at least two crosswise with each other via a cross strut joint connected struts used to adjust the seat width are each made variable in length by telescoping and at their upper end one in each case transversely to the strut in the longitudinal direction of the folding wheelchair serves to determine the seat and to enlarge the Seat depth is changeable.
Such an embodiment can be found in US Pat. No. 4,989,890 remove. In this embodiment, the change the seat width, i.e. necessary to widen the wheelchair frame Length change of the two struts by a bilateral Telescoping of both struts achieved. This gives there is a design-related limitation of the maximum length adjustment. Due to the large number of components, the construction somewhat unstable and in production due to the large number of components and assembly connections relatively expensive.
To extend the seat depth is with this known construction a front extension piece is provided for each seat profile, which is attached to the tubular seat profile if necessary can be. This solution appears disadvantageous because a desired extension of the seat depth not only this Attachments but above all a longer seat covering must be procured, which must also be reassembled.
A further cross strut, in which only one-sided telescoping is provided for each strut, is disclosed in US Pat. No. 2,669,289.
The invention is based on the object described above To constructively improve cross braces.
This object is achieved by a cross strut according to
According to the invention, there is therefore only one-sided for the two struts Telescope provided. This will make the maximum possible length adjustment of the struts increased, the number the required components, however, reduced. It follows a more stable, easier to assemble and less expensive construction to be manufactured. The upper and the lower can Buttress section each formed by a one-piece T-piece his.
As children and adolescents grow, it's economic Reasons desirable that their folding wheelchair also "grows with them" can not only in terms of seat width but also the seat depth. According to the invention it is therefore provided that Seat profile is formed in two parts, the front seat profile section preferably telescoped continuously in the main seat tube.
It is advantageous if on the two front seat profile sections one with these sliding front seat covers attached, partially from a stationary rear, seat covers attached to the two main seat tubes is spread.
The two-part seat covering enables problem-free length adjustment. The seat depth setting remains the same rear seat cover stationary, while the front seat cover moved together with the front seat profile sections becomes.
Further features of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims and are with further advantages of the invention based on a Embodiment explained in more detail.
