Abstract
The air we breathe is anything but chemically pure, depending on the location and weather conditions. With the exception of some clean air areas, it is loaded with a large number of environmental pollutants. The effects of such pollutants can be seen on stone pitting on cultural monuments, but also on modern concrete buildings and above all on the death of our forests.
The air in rooms in which people live and work is polluted with pollutants several times more than the open air on the high-traffic streets of cities. These pollutants are declared as "indoor chemicals". Between 50 and 100 chemical substances can be detected in rooms in the private living area, in offices, kindergartens, schools and even in patient rooms of hospitals. For the majority of these substances, the concentrations are in the microgram range, so that a health hazard for humans cannot be assumed. However, it is not known how these low-quality organic substances react with one another. Some of them could dissolve against each other, but they could also strengthen or enter into new, as yet unknown connections. The health-endangering effect on humans is known or proven from a number of organic substances. They can cause cancer in humans with long-term or frequent exposure. Specialists are concerned about the rapid increase in respiratory and pulmonary diseases. Over 20 million people currently suffer from allergies. The trend is continuously increasing. In the Federal Republic of Germany, scientific committees have been concerned with researching the cause (s) of allergies for years. So far there are only extremely contradicting theories and assumptions. Regardless, scientists deny the link between air pollution and allergies.
Observations on a few hundred children suffering from allergic diseases and in some cases also on adults have shown surprising results. Did the affected patients change location, such as B. Vacation by the sea or in the high mountains before, the allergic symptoms disappeared completely within a few days.
Sometimes a long weekend in recreation areas was enough. On returning to the usual environment, the allergic symptoms appeared immediately or gradually. Taking into account the loss of allergies associated with the change of location, such as house dust mites, spores, dusts, etc., the clean air prevailing in these regions can be regarded as the cause of the improvement in allergic conditions.
The indiscriminate, often too frequent, prescription of anti-biotics has made bacteria resistant.
A comment by Prof. Franz Daschner, hygienist, Feiburg Clinic, on a ZDF report from Queens Hospital New York with Dr. Rahal, one of the leading experts in bacterial infections and diseases. (Feb. 1995) "We have a new epidemic and we have a new epidemic. In Germany, thank goodness, only beginning, but worldwide beyond a doubt. We have an epidemic caused by poly-resistant, poly-antibiotic-resistant germs. From all of this "What we know is guaranteed that more patients worldwide will die from antibiotic-resistant germs, not only related to Germany, than worldwide from AIDS".
For some years now, the industry has been offering differently working devices for air purification. Simple devices draw the indoor air through several activated carbon and / or glass fiber filters or through a water bath. Adequate cleaning of the room air cannot be achieved by installing such devices. For pollutants that can be filtered out in principle, there is a considerable time delay before they get from the source to the air purification device. In addition, there is a risk that the microorganisms will multiply in air purification devices or humidifiers due to the pollutants accumulating there. Either these or the preservatives and / or fragrances used for defense can additionally pollute the indoor air.
The solution to the problems presented is based on the invention of a device which builds up a pollutant-free zone around a person in the room and maintains it continuously. It is generated by the device (Fig. 1) installed in a stainless steel housing (300 x 170 x 110 mm). For this it is necessary to place the device at a distance of 1 - 3 m so that the air flow flows around the people; e.g. B. to sleep on the bedside table next to the bed, or in the office on the desk, etc. .. The air stream emanating from the device, freed of pollutants, bacteria, germs, viruses, etc., can optionally contain ozone (approx. 30 µg / m 3 ) can be added. The constant flow of air not only has a healing and health-promoting effect, it also prevents the application and inhalation of harmful substances.
In Fig. 2 the function of the device for connecting an air hose is shown. An air hose is connected to the air outlet nozzle, which directs the hygienically clean air enriched with ozone (30 µg / m 3 ) for selective use. For example, to prevent the formation of germs on postoperative wounds, to heal fungal infections on parts of the body or for dermatological or cosmetic treatment of the skin. Installed in hairdressing hoods, the selectable, hygienically clean and ozone-enriched air flow not only keeps the scalp and hair healthy, it also prevents the inhalation of the fragrances that are often added to hair care products, which can be hazardous to health (musk xylene) .
At the same time, the concentration of the smell typical for the hairdressing salon is significantly reduced.
Description
The invention relates to a device that installs in a stainless steel housing (FIG. 1), generates and maintains a zone of pollutant-free air around a person in a room. This is done in such a way that the room air sucked in by a fan (6) first passes in the upper part of the device (1) through a microfine air filter element (2) designed as a slide-in cassette. The pollutants that occur in indoor air due to indoor emissions or outside air entry, such as dusts, heavy metals, germs, bacteria, pollen, diesel soot with a diameter greater than 1 µg / m 3, are permanently absorbed by the mechanical filtration effect and the electrostatic filtration effect. The elimination of organic substances, as well as none, viruses, bacteria, etc., with a diameter of less than 2µg / m 3 takes place directly through intensive ozone radiation (3) and indirectly through adsorption on 2 activated carbon cassettes (4 + 5) designed as insert elements. The activated carbon cartridges are continuously regenerated by ozone. This also ensures the depletion of ozone. On activated carbon, ozone breaks down into oxygen. A hygienically clean air flow flows into the room air in the lower area of the device (7). The operating switches are fitted on the back (8 + 9).
The hygienically perfect air flow is enriched with ozone (approx. 30 µg / m 3 ) by removing one of the two activated carbon slide-in cassettes (4 + 5). Conversely, the device can be used at high ozone concentrations in office rooms, caused by photocopiers or laser printers, to effectively reduce the ozone content in the room air by switching off the ozone stage (3).
A flexible air hose is placed on this air flow nozzle. The hygienically clean air enriched with ozone (approx. 30 µg / m 3 ) can then be used selectively, for example to prevent Germ formation on postoperative wounds and scars, or for the treatment of fungal infections on parts of the body and for the dermatological or cosmetic treatment of skin areas.
