Abstract

Railway construction work is carried out with a rail-borne vehicle. It has a machine frame in which sweeping brushes rotate on a brush shaft supported by a mounting arrangement (19). It has bearing arms (20), which can be moved transversely on a horizontal cross guide (22) which is perpendicular to the machine longitudinal direction. A cross movement drive (28) is provided for moving the cross guide. Preferably the cross guide comprises two guide rails (25,26) connected together by a link (23) with a vertical axis (24). Only one of the rails is attached to the machine frame and the other can be swivelled from an operative position perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the machine to an inoperative position in the longitudinal direction.

Description

The invention relates to a machine for performing track construction work, with a machine frame supported on rail bogies and a height-adjustable by drives, rotatable about a brush shaft transverse to the longitudinal direction of the machine and horizontally, mounted in a sweeping brush housing, sweeping brush.

Such a machine in the form of a ballast plow for ballasting a track is already known from US Pat. No. 5,402,547. A ballast plow, which is height-adjustable by drives and arranged below the machine frame, is followed by a total of three sweeping brush housings spaced apart from one another, each with a rotating sweeping brush. At the front end of the machine frame there is another sweeping brush for an exchange for a sweeping brush that has been worn out by the work in the sweeping brush housing. The manipulative effort required for this is relatively large since the sweeping brush having a large number of elastic hoses is correspondingly heavy. In the event that the track being traveled lies between two neighboring tracks, which are used without restriction, there are also serious safety problems in connection with the replacement of the sweeping brush.

From US 5 172 637 and US 5 172 635 it is also known to use a sweeping brush in connection with a tamping machine or a track stabilizer.

The object of the present invention is to create a machine of the generic type with which a simplified exchange of the sweeping brush can be carried out.

This object is achieved according to the invention with a machine described at the outset, which is supported by a bearing arm connected to the machine frame and two spaced apart in the machine transverse direction of the brush shaft holding device for intermediate storage of the sweeping brush is characterized, the holding device being mounted so that it can be displaced transversely in a transverse guide perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the machine and horizontally and is connected to a transverse displacement drive.

This training enables an advantageous intermediate storage of a new sweeping brush in the immediate vicinity of the sweeping brush housing, in order to be able to carry out a quick and simple exchange if necessary simply by placing the sweeping brush on the track while avoiding any physical effort on the part of the operator. As a result of the transversely displaceable design of the holding device, the transfer of the new sweeping brush, which is expediently arranged in front of the machine frame, onto the holding device can be carried out considerably more easily, for example with a lifting device. Of course, this also applies in reverse to the removal of the used sweeping brush that is no longer usable.

According to an advantageous development of the invention, the transverse guide fastened to the machine frame is formed from two guide rails connected to one another by a joint with a vertical axis, only one first guide rail being connected to the machine frame and the second guide rail from an insert position running perpendicular to the machine longitudinal direction in a machine longitudinal direction running inoperative position is pivotable. On the one hand, there is the possibility of distancing the sweeping brush as far as possible from the machine frame in the cross-machine direction for easy transfer by a lifting device. On the other hand, the pivotability of the second guide rail ensures that the prescribed clearance profile is not exceeded when the machine is in use.

Additional advantageous embodiments of the invention result from the further subclaims.

The invention is described in more detail below with reference to an embodiment shown in the drawing.

A machine 1 shown in FIG. 1 for carrying out track construction work has a machine frame 3 supported on rail bogies 2 and a ballast plow 5 which is height-adjustable by drives 4 for ballasting a track 6. A motor 7 is used to supply energy to a travel drive 8 and all other drives. A central control device 10 is located in a driving cabin 9. An arrow 11 shows a preferred working direction of the machine 1.

Between the ballast plow 5 and the rear rail undercarriage 2 there is a sweeping brush housing 13 which can be height-adjusted by drives 12 and in which a sweeping brush 14 is arranged. This has a brush shaft 16 which runs perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the machine and is horizontal and rotatable by a drive 15 and which has a plurality of radially projecting, flexible sweeping elements 17 is connected. Immediately in front of the sweeping brush housing 13 is a cross conveyor belt 18 for the removal of excess ballast.

Fig. 3). A holding device 19 for the intermediate storage of a sweeping brush 14 is provided directly in front of the rear rail running gear 2. This holding device 19 essentially consists of two bearing arms 20 spaced apart from one another in the cross-machine direction, running horizontally and in the longitudinal direction of the machine, and a cross slide 21 connected to them and a cross guide 22 (see FIG. 3). This transverse guide 22, which is fastened to the machine frame 3 and runs perpendicular to the machine longitudinal direction and horizontally, is formed from two guide rails 25, 26 which are connected to one another by a joint 23 with a vertical axis 24. Of these, only a first guide rail 25 is connected to the machine frame 3, while the second guide rail 26 can be pivoted from an operating position running perpendicular to the machine longitudinal direction into an inoperative position running at an angle to the machine longitudinal direction - shown in broken lines in FIG. 4.

The pivotable second guide rail 26 can be locked by a locking device 27 both in the pivoting-in position and in the non-operating position. The cross slide 21 supporting the bearing arms 20 can be transversely displaced with the aid of a transverse displacement drive 28 articulated on the machine frame 3.

The bearing arms 20 are positioned between the transverse guide 22 and the sweeping brush housing 13 and, at their free end, which is distant from the transverse guide 22, are equipped with a fixing device 29 for mounting the brush shaft 16. This fixing device 29 is designed here in a very simple form merely as a depression for receiving the brush shaft 16. Alternatively, any known, quick-release fixing device can also be used. As can be seen in particular in FIG. 3, each bearing arm 20 is mounted on the cross slide 21 so as to be pivotable about an axis 30 running perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the machine and horizontally, and is connected to a swivel drive 31.

The holding device 19 arranged below the machine frame 3 is assigned a crane 33 (FIG. 1), which is height-adjustable by drives 32 and rotatable about a vertical axis, and is fastened on the machine frame 3 above it. In the transport area of this crane 33, bearing supports 34 are provided which are connected to the machine frame 3 and on which sweeping brushes 14 arranged one behind the other in the machine longitudinal direction are mounted.

To transfer a sweeping brush 14, which is alternatively mounted on the bearing supports 34, into the sweeping brush housing 13, the guide rail 26 is pivoted into a working position running transversely to the machine longitudinal direction (see FIG. 4) and locked in this position by the locking device 27. When the transverse slide drive 28 is acted on, a transverse displacement of the transverse slide 21 together with the bearing arms 20 then takes place in a transfer position which can be seen in FIG. 3, in which the transverse slide 21 is displaced up to the end of the second guide rail 26. In this position, a sweeping brush 14 can easily be placed by the crane 33 on the two bearing arms 20 of the holding device 19. Subsequently, the holding device 19 together with the sweeping brush 14 is returned to a position symmetrical with respect to the center of the machine, with the transverse sliding drive 28 being acted upon. When the two swivel drives 31 are acted upon, the bearing arms 20 are lowered (dash-dotted lines in FIG. 2) and thus the sweeping brush 14 is placed on the track 6. By slightly reversing the machine 1, the sweeping brush 14 lying on the track 6 comes under the Raised sweeping brush housing 13 to lie, after which a corresponding anchoring takes place in its bearing points for use of the sweeping brush 14.

A worn sweeping brush 14 is exchanged in reverse order. In order to be able to easily change the sweeping brush 14 even in the case of a neighboring track being driven on, it is expedient to provide a pivotable guide rail 26 in the region of the two longitudinal sides of the machine. So there is the possibility of the sweeping brush 14 can be exchanged either on one or the other side of the machine.
