Definitions
- Plastic frames e.g. Window and door frames etc. are mostly made of hollow chamber profiles, with metal profiles, e.g. Aluminum profiles, sheet steel profiles, etc., are used for the purpose of stiffening the mostly very long hollow profiles.
- brackets are inserted and screwed into the reinforcement inside the profiles to be connected.
- tolerance compensation of the hollow chambers of the plastic profile is not possible.
- a screw channel is usually provided, which in turn is not readily possible in the case of sheet steel profiles, which are significantly cheaper to manufacture.
- the screw clamps required for sheet steel profiles require an additional operation mean and are therefore time consuming and expensive.
- such a profile insert consisting of two profile halves inserted loosely into the hollow chamber has several disadvantages.
- the screw channels for the fighter screws are only formed when the two profile halves lie exactly against one another, i.e. the beads in the profile halves must together form an upper and a lower square recess (screw channel) into which screws can then be screwed.
- the hollow chamber profile also has only small height tolerances, the beads are not exactly opposite one another and a screw channel is not formed. In the case of transverse tolerances of the hollow chamber profile, the two profile halves jam and screwing in the screws is also not possible.
- the invention solves the problem of creating a connection for hollow chamber profiles by means of a reinforcing profile made of sheet steel, which avoids the disadvantages of the known hollow chamber profiles with certainty, which is simple and economical to manufacture and assemble, and tolerances of the receiving chamber of the profile can compensate.
- the advantages achieved by the invention are, in particular, that a secure and firm connection can be established by the screw channel provided in a folded steel sheet, tolerances of the profile and of the one-piece reinforcement are compensated for by an intended gap between the legs of the reinforcing profile. Furthermore, the fact that the fighter screw screwed into the screw channel already formed in its manufacture during the manufacturing process is held by the own clamping force of the two legs and that only one fighter screw is required on each side of the reinforcing profile and economical production of the reinforcement profile from folded steel sheet.
- the reinforcement profile also has a high degree of dimensional stability and is not supported on the walls of the receiving chamber or is not pressed into the plastic material of the inner wall of the hollow chamber. Another advantage is the economic producibility and assembly of the proposed with the invention Reinforcement profile for the connection of hollow chamber profiles.
- Fig. 1 shows a hollow chamber profile 1 with its receiving chamber 2.
- this receiving chamber 2 is a reinforcement profile 3 open on one side (above) through a metal-rolled sheet profile, preferably. made of sheet steel, introduced, which fills the receiving chamber 2 in height and at both ends, ie above and below, through the width corresponding bends at these points.
- the two parallel legs of the reinforcing profile 3 form, for example. in the middle, a screw channel 3a, while below the screw channel 3a the legs of the reinforcement profile 3 lie on top of each other, they form an open top gap 3b above the screw channel, to compensate for tolerances of the hollow chamber profile and the reinforcement profile.
- Fig. 2 shows the connection of two hollow chamber profiles, for example. of a window.
- the fighter profile 1 or the like is firmly connected to the frame profile 4, into which a reinforcement 5 is also inserted, by means of the screw 6.
- the screw 6 penetrates on the one hand the reinforcement profile 5 of the frame profile 4 and is screwed into the screw channel 3a of the reinforcement profile 3 in the fighter profile 1 or the like.
- FIG. 3 illustrates the reinforcement profile 3 according to FIG. 1 with the screw channel 3a already formed during its manufacture, with inwardly defined radii of defined dimension and position relative to the screw channel of the frame profile.
- the screw channel 3a merges into a shaped gap 3b of a defined width.
- Fig. 4 is a variant of Fig. 1 or the reinforcement profile acc. 3, the top and bottom folds 3c, corresponding to the hollow chamber dimensions, can be made wider, the screw channel 3a and the mold gap 3b being adaptable to the circumstances.
- the screw channel 3a in the reinforcement profile 3 is provided in the middle of the two legs of the reinforcement profile or is offset upwards or downwards.
- the bends at the top or bottom of the reinforcement profile can, as shown in the drawing, be short or, depending on the hollow chamber geometry, correspondingly longer.
- the invention is not limited to window profiles, but can be used with advantage wherever hollow chamber profiles are to be connected to one another.

Description
Hollow chamber profile connection with a steel profile inserted into a receiving chamber of the same as a reinforcing element for stiffening the hollow chamber profile and the connection with one or more further profiles, for example a fighter profile with frame profiles.
Kunststoffrahmen, z.B. Plastic frames, e.g. Window and door frames etc. are mostly made of hollow chamber profiles, with metal profiles, e.g. Aluminum profiles, sheet steel profiles, etc., are used for the purpose of stiffening the mostly very long hollow profiles.
To connect such hollow plastic profiles, for example a frame profile with a fighter profile, brackets are inserted and screwed into the reinforcement inside the profiles to be connected. If aluminum profiles are used, tolerance compensation of the hollow chambers of the plastic profile is not possible. In the case of extruded aluminum profiles, a screw channel is usually provided, which in turn is not readily possible in the case of sheet steel profiles, which are significantly cheaper to manufacture. In addition, the screw clamps required for sheet steel profiles require an additional operation mean and are therefore time consuming and expensive.
With EP-A-0312646 a center support for window frames has become known, which is a reinforcement made of two U-shaped, loose mirror images of each other inserted into the hollow chamber profile halves made of sheet steel with two rectangular beads, which are put together with the base leg and on the inner wall of the Supported hollow chamber, together form two screw channels.
However, such a profile insert consisting of two profile halves inserted loosely into the hollow chamber has several disadvantages. For example, the screw channels for the fighter screws are only formed when the two profile halves lie exactly against one another, i.e. the beads in the profile halves must together form an upper and a lower square recess (screw channel) into which screws can then be screwed. However, if the hollow chamber profile also has only small height tolerances, the beads are not exactly opposite one another and a screw channel is not formed. In the case of transverse tolerances of the hollow chamber profile, the two profile halves jam and screwing in the screws is also not possible. Another disadvantage is the fact that the profile halves must be supported with their top and bottom folds on the inner wall of the hollow chamber profile in order to be functional at all. After screwing in the screws, these folds press into the plastic material, which leads to cold flow of the plastic and possibly. loosen the screws. The assembly of the profile halves is also cumbersome and time consuming.
This is where the invention comes in. The invention, as described in the claims, solves the problem of creating a connection for hollow chamber profiles by means of a reinforcing profile made of sheet steel, which avoids the disadvantages of the known hollow chamber profiles with certainty, which is simple and economical to manufacture and assemble, and tolerances of the receiving chamber of the profile can compensate.
The advantages achieved by the invention are, in particular, that a secure and firm connection can be established by the screw channel provided in a folded steel sheet, tolerances of the profile and of the one-piece reinforcement are compensated for by an intended gap between the legs of the reinforcing profile. The reinforcement profile also has a high degree of dimensional stability and is not supported on the walls of the receiving chamber or is not pressed into the plastic material of the inner wall of the hollow chamber. Another advantage is the economic producibility and assembly of the proposed with the invention Reinforcement profile for the connection of hollow chamber profiles.
