Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a method for packaging a product in a container making it possible to ensure better conservation of the product during storage by establishing a reduced pressure in the container containing the product and / or by introducing an inert gas vis- vis-à-vis the product packaged in the container. This process is particularly suitable for use on packaging lines.
  • inert gas a gas which is not capable of reacting chemically with the preserved product and which does not contain microorganisms capable of degrading the preserved product.
  • inert gas is most often nitrogen.
  • suction or injection of inert gas is generally carried out through a hypodermic needle, the small section of which limits the gas flow rates and consequently increases the times required for these operations on the packaging lines.
  • Improving the conservation of products during storage has the advantage of making it possible to avoid, totally or partially, adding preservatives to these products, which can have a harmful action on the user, for example an irritant action or allergen in the case of a cosmetic.
  • the present invention firstly relates to a process for packaging a product in a container, making it possible to ensure better conservation of the product during storage by establishing by suction a reduced pressure in the container and / or by introducing a gas therein.
  • inert vis-à-vis the stored product in which, after filling the container with the product through a neck area, a capsule is fixed in leaktight manner on said neck area, through which it is established by suction , a pressure below the atmospheric pressure and / or an inert gas is introduced by injection, the capsule remaining on the container and then maintaining the sealing of the container during storage, in which the capsule is associated with a valve constituted by a flexible elastic membrane provided with at least one opening; is applied to said valve a member connected to suction means for establishing a reduced pressure and / or to injection means for the introduction of an inert gas; the reduced pressure is established and / or the inert gas is introduced into the container using said member through the valve, the opening and closing of said valve being by deformation of the elastic
  • the container it is possible either to establish a reduced pressure in the container, or to introduce an inert gas by purging the air contained in the container.
  • suction is first carried out so as to obtain a reduced pressure in the container, then the container is brought back to atmospheric pressure by the introduction of an inert gas.
  • a second object of the present invention is a packaging assembly comprising a container containing a product, on a neck area of which is fixed a capsule associated with a valve through which a reduced pressure is established and / or an inert gas is introduced into the container, in which the valve is constituted by a flexible elastic membrane having the shape of a cylindrical cap having an edge and a bottom, at least one opening being formed in the membrane, being able to remain closed thanks to the inherent elasticity of said membrane and can be opened by the action of a suction and / or injection member on the bottom of said membrane, characterized in that the elastic membrane is carried by the capsule and that the edge of the cylindrical cap constituting said membrane elastic is connected to the bottom by a side skirt, the membrane comprising a plurality of openings arranged in the zone of junction of said bottom with said lateral skirt and in line with the end of a rigid skirt integral with the capsule, an annular projection carried by said bottom resting on the internal face of the rigid skirt, the end of said rigid skirt thus being clamped between said annular
  • a perforated plate ensuring both a rigidity of the rigid skirt and the passage of the product to be dispensed and , on the other hand, means ensuring the seal between the capsule and the container.
  • An overcap is preferably fixed on the capsule so as to cover it, this overcap comprising means for holding the elastic membrane in the closed position.
  • This means is, for example, constituted by a bead located on the inner wall of the overcap which presses on the elastic membrane substantially in line with the annular projection thereof and maintains the lateral skirt of the elastic membrane against the rigid skirt forming a seat .
  • the outer wall of the capsule and / or the inner wall of the overcap is (are) provided with means preventing the rotation of said overcap relative to said capsule.
  • Figures 1 and 2 show at different stages of the process an assembly 401 according to the invention.
  • FIG. 2 shows in axial section, the assembly 401 ready for storage.
  • This assembly 401 is constituted by a bottle 402 on the neck 421 from which is screwed a head 403, which is in turn covered by an overcap 404.
  • the head 403 consists of a capsule 406 on which a thin membrane is fixed by welding elastic 405 forming a valve 405 and cooperating with a seat, which is part of the capsule 406.
  • FIG. 3 shows in more detail the capsule 406 and the membrane 405, during the mounting of the head 403.
  • the capsule 406 consists of a cylindrical skirt 461 of the same axis as the neck 421, which is provided on its internal wall with a screw thread cooperating with an external screw thread of the neck and which comprises, on its lower edge, an external bead of breakdown 462.
  • the skirt 461 carries, at its upper part, a circular transverse plate 464.
  • This plate 464 is pierced with openings 465 arranged on a circle having as axis the axis of the neck 421 and opening in this neck 421; it is provided, on its side on the bottle side, with a sealing skirt 466, in contact with the internal wall of the neck and, on its opposite side, with a cylindrical skirt 468, which forms a seat for the elastic membrane 405 as it will be explained below.
  • the cylindrical skirt 468 surrounds the openings 465.
  • the elastic membrane 405 has the shape of a cylindrical cap, which covers the cylindrical skirt 468 and which has an annular flat edge 452 and a bottom 451. Openings 453 are arranged on a circle in the zone of connection between the edge 452 and the side skirt of the cylindrical cap, said side skirt connecting the bottom 451 and the edge 452.
  • the edge 452 is welded to the transverse plate 464 so that the annular projection 454 of the elastic membrane 405 is in contact with the interior of the skirt 468 of the capsule and that the openings 453 open in the space between the annular projection 454 and the side skirt of the elastic membrane 405, the skirt 468 being disposed between the annular projection 454 and the side skirt of the membrane 405.
  • the overcap 404 laterally comprises a cylindrical skirt 442, the lower edge of which has a groove 443 cooperating with the external flange 462 of the capsule 406 and the upper edge of which is connected to a circular upper face 441 perpendicular to the axis of the neck 421.
  • the internal wall of the upper face 441 carries, as a means keeping the elastic membrane in the closed position, an annular bead 444, which presses on the elastic membrane on a circle of diameter slightly smaller than that of the annular projection 454, so to be able to keep said projection 454 pressed in leaktight manner against the rigid skirt 468.
  • the bottle 402 is filled with product P, then the capsule 406 equipped with its elastic membrane 405 is screwed onto the neck 421 of the bottle 402.
  • the capsule 406 equipped with its elastic membrane 405 is screwed onto the neck 421 of the bottle 402.
  • a bell 407 we apply then tightly on the elastic membrane 405 a bell 407 and the air contained in the bottle is aspirated, as indicated by the arrow F1 so as to establish a reduced pressure in the bottle 402.
  • the elastic membrane 405 is deformed by swelling, the side wall of the cap deviating from the external wall of the skirt 468; simultaneously, the annular projection 454 of the membrane 405 departs from the skirt 468 of the capsule 406; the openings 453 of the membrane 405 and 465 of the capsule 406 bring the bottle 402 into communication with the bell 407.
  • the overcap 404 is then fixed on the head 403.
  • the annular bead 444 presses on the elastic membrane 405 and maintains said membrane 405 in the closed position while keeping the projection 454 pressed against the skirt 468, even in the event of repressurization of the bottle 402.
  • the product contained in the bottle is therefore kept under reduced pressure during storage and isolated from the atmosphere.
  • overcap 404 When the user wishes to withdraw the product contained in the bottle, he acts on the overcap 404, which is secured in rotation with the head 403 by interaction of the ridges 467 and 445, and separates the assembly (overcap 404 / head 403) from the bottle 402.
  • valve formed by the elastic membrane 405 is kept in the sealed closed position during storage until the user opens the bottle.
