Description

The present invention relates to a closure for a drinking bottle with a closure cap that can be locked on the bottle neck according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
Such bottles are used in particular by cyclists. In order to prevent contamination of the contents and spilling out while driving, such bottles are provided with closable lids or caps.

A bottle for cyclists is known from German Offenlegungsschrift 35 14 261, in which the mouthpiece can be pulled axially out of the closure cap, thereby forming a passage opening for the liquid in the bottle. Depending on the position of the mouthpiece, the cyclist can either spray the liquid in fine jets, e.g. to wet his face, let it come out or he can expose the drinking opening to the extent that it is possible to drink by squeezing the bottle, which is usually made of a soft plastic. The bottle is then sealed again by pushing back the mouthpiece.

From US Pat. No. 3,295,294, a bottle stopper for dispenser bottles is also known, which has a pouring part that can be displaced axially in a screw part, the bore of which is securely closed when the pouring part is pushed in by a pin arranged coaxially to the pouring hole in the inside of the closure cap.

Both known closures are suitable for bottles that are compressed when dispensing liquid and in which the ventilation of the Interior can take place after removal. It is not possible to draw liquid continuously or to use a solid bottle made of metal, for example.

From US Pat. No. 4,852,781, a drinking bottle for runners is also known, which is carried on the back and which liquid is removed through a tube. A vent hole at the side, which opens into the cap, allows liquid to be withdrawn continuously. This known bottle has the disadvantage that neither the main removal opening nor the vent opening can be closed, and the removal hose is guided through the closure to the bottom of the bottle, so that it can be used by cyclists who place the bottle with the closure down on their mouth, not suitable.

Hier will die Erfindung Abhilfe schaffen. The invention seeks to remedy this. The invention, as characterized in the claims, solves the problem of creating a closure for a drinking bottle, which allows a continuous withdrawal of liquid, has a standby position between the liquid withdrawals and enables a tight closure after use.

The closure according to the invention permits spill-free drinking because the drinker only completely pulls out the mouthpiece with the teeth after the bottle has been placed on the mouth and thus releases the liquid. Due to the partially open vent hole in the intermediate position, a constant pressure equalization can take place, so that no liquid escapes under pressure when the pin is pulled out. At the end of the drinking process, the drinker pushes the mouthpiece back into the cap with his tongue, lips or teeth, so that when the bottle is returned from the mouth to the storage location on the front tube of the bicycle, no liquid can flow out and the bottle remains ready to drink at any time. With the flange attached or molded onto the mouthpiece, the ventilation opening can be completely or partially closed at the same time as the mouthpiece is inserted. Due to the static height difference between the ventilation holes and the outflow opening, no liquid can pass through the ventilation hole during drinking and during breaks in breathing and thus exit next to the mouthpiece. In the event of longer interruptions to drinking with a bottle that has fallen, a few drops may escape.

An axially displaceably guided mouthpiece 7 is visible on the closure cap 5. The bottle 1 is designed in such a way that it can be inserted into a holder on the front tube which is present on bicycles of racing drivers.

The closure cap 5 consists of a screw part 11 made of plastic or metal and comprising the bottle neck 3 both inside and outside and having a threaded section 9 and having a central bore 13 into which the mouthpiece 7 can be inserted. The bore 13 has a cylindrical section 15 in the upper part. In the lower section of the bore 13, a lateral extension 17 or webs are let into the screw part 11, which are open towards the underside 18 of the closure cap 5. At the lower end of the cap 5, a web 14 is arranged. A preferably conical pin 19, whose diameter d is equal to or slightly smaller than the diameter D of the bore 13, sits on the web 14 centrally to the bore 13.

Offset from the axis A and outside the bore 13 and the extension 17 of the closure cap 5, a cylindrical or conical ventilation channel 21 is attached, which has a smaller one at the bottle-side end Diameter (bore 22 with a cylindrical shape) than on the side of the mouthpiece 7.
On the upper side of the screw part 11 there is a circular recess 23 which is concentric to the axis A and into which a flange 25 attached to the mouthpiece 7 can engage and engage in a form-fitting manner. Above the flange 25, a circumferential, rounded-off shoulder 27 is preferably provided on the mouthpiece 7. The mouthpiece 7 has a central continuous suction bore 29, the diameter of which can be slightly smaller at the bottle-side end of the mouthpiece 7.
Below the flange 25, the mouthpiece 7 has an essentially cylindrical section 31 which is guided longitudinally in the bore 13 of the screw part. Radially circumferential ribs 33 can be attached to the jacket of the cylindrical section 31, which engage in correspondingly arranged circumferential grooves 34 in the bore 13 and hold the mouthpiece 7 in the inserted, a middle and in the extended position.
The fully inserted mouthpiece 7, as FIG. 2 shows, rests with the underside of the flange 25 on the bottom 26 of the recess 23, and the lower end of the cylindrical section 31 is guided over the pin 19. The suction bore 29 is sealed in this position by the pin 19 and leakage of liquid from the bottle 1 is prevented in any position.
When the mouthpiece 7 is pushed in, the ventilation channel 21 is completely closed by a preferably conical mandrel 30. When the mouthpiece 7 is partially extended (in the intermediate position), just as much air can pass through the straight or helical grooves 32 on the side of the dome 30 that there is a pressure equalization between the inside of the bottle and the atmosphere, and the liquid at most if the bottle 1 has fallen or fallen over can drop out.
If the cyclist intends to drink from the bottle 1, he pulls the mouthpiece 7 axially out of the screw part 11 either by hand or after attaching the mouthpiece 7 to the mouth with his teeth. He preferably brings the mouthpiece 7 into the intermediate position before the start of his journey, so that the bottle contents 1 cannot be overpressured due to the heating of the bottle contents by solar radiation. When the mouthpiece 7 is completely pulled out, the lower end the cylindrical portion 31 of the mouthpiece 7 is pulled out of the pin 19 and a connection between the inside of the bottle is created via the extension 17, which is open at the bottom, to the suction bore 29 and allows liquid to escape from the bottle 1.
So that there is no negative pressure in the bottle 1 even when liquid is removed, air from the atmosphere can enter the bottle 1 through the now expanded open cross section in the ventilation channel 21. The ventilation channel 21, which is located within the recess 23, is further exposed by pulling the mouthpiece 7 and the dome 30 out of the screw part 11 and thereby allows air to be admitted in sufficient quantity.
After use, the mouthpiece 7 can again be inserted into the screw part 11, still in the cyclist's mouth, and thus leakage of liquid when the bottle 1 is set down from the mouth can be reliably prevented.
