the removal means (2; 2.1; 2.2; 2.3) is pivotable about a pivot axis (52) extending parallel to the removal roll in such a manner that the lower removal surface of the removal means can be brought into a predetermined inclined position deviating from the horizontal, and when the removal means adopts this position it is movable during the reciprocation of the machine frame both downwards and upwards in such a manner that the removal is carried out in a rising or falling plane.

the machine frame (3; 3.1) is manually or automatically rotatable about a vertical axis (64) and the removal means (2) is substantially simultaneously pivotable in such a manner that the lower removal surface of the removal means is pivotable into the correspondingly opposite inclined position deviating from the horizontal.

characterised in that
the conveyor belt (61) is intermittently movable in such a manner that the depth of removal of material per reciprocation of the removal means (2; 2.1) is determinable by the feed increment of the conveyor belt.
8. Apparatus according to claim 6,
characterised in that
two conveyor belts (61) are provided, one on each side of the machine frame (3.2).
9. Apparatus according to claim 8,
characterised in that
the conveyor belts (61) are alternatively movable forwards by one feed increment.
