Definitions
- the invention relates to a felt cloth for paper machines, in particular a wet felt for the press section, comprising at least one screen fabric and at least one nonwoven layer needled therewith and an insert.
- felt cloths are required in paper machines in the press section and in the dryer section, which are used to transport the paper web and in particular in the press section to receive and discharge the squeezed water.
- the felt fabrics used here can be formed from a screen fabric onto which several layers of nonwoven fabric are needled.
- the disadvantage of these felt towels is that they get dirty relatively quickly, thereby compacting and, finally, can hardly remove water from the paper stock. This applies especially to the wet end of the press section.
- a felt washing device is often arranged on the press section and the wet felt is then washed continuously or discontinuously during its use in order to keep it open as long as possible and thus functional.
- the felt cloth is formed from a plurality of independent screen fabrics, at least one of the fabrics being needled with a nonwoven layer.
- the felt cloth consists of several base fabrics, which can move relative to each other, which consequently loosens the needled fibers of the nonwoven fabric, as a result of which the dirt adhering to the fibers is more easily removed from the felt cloth.
- Felted fabrics with this structure are often used with great success.
- Another felt cloth has become known from EP PA 0307183, in which the empty volume is to be retained for as long as possible while reducing the compaction.
- an insert made of a synthetic mesh layer is placed on the screen fabric, onto which a fleece is needled. This formation of the felt cloth does not bring the desired success, especially in the case of a closely meshed network.
- the present invention is based on the object of further developing the known felt towels and achieving an even better drainage performance.
- the compaction of the felt should be reduced and a longer openness due to less dirt accumulation and thus a longer service life of the felt is sought.
- the object is achieved with a felt cloth of the type mentioned in the invention in that the insert is formed only from longitudinal threads and is inserted between the screen fabric and the nonwoven layer and / or the screen fabrics.
- This insert without transverse threads leads to the formation of channels in the interior of the felt, which ensure improved water flow in and through the felt. This results in the improved drainage performance and longer service life of the felts.
- a further advantage arises in that the long thread layer prevents the upper fabric from being able to press into the openings of the lower fabric with its offset points. It should be noted that with the same or a similar weave of the screen fabric, this indentation of the cranks in the openings of the adjacent fabric is possible in the course of the pressing during the life of the felt, with the result that the felt is compressed.
- the new felt cloth also has a greater flexibility in the transverse direction compared to the prior art, which facilitates the installation of the felt in the paper machine. At the same time, the felt showed excellent dimensional stability.
- the longitudinal threads can be formed from monofilaments.
- monofilament thread is also possible.
- highly elastic threads such as rubber threads.
- the thickness of the long threads is preferably selected so that it is approximately 1.3 times the thickness of the sieve fabric threads.
- the basic idea of the present invention namely the insertion of an insert between Vies and sieve cloth or two sieve cloths, can be used in different combinations with felt cloths.
- a three-layer screen fabric only a single insert can be used, but it is also possible to use two inlays, one of which is inserted between two screen fabrics.
- Other combinations in, for example, five-layer screen fabrics are also conceivable in order to achieve the effect of the invention.
- the combination of a fleece, an insert and a sieve fabric or a fleece, two inserts and a sieve fabric is also conceivable.
- the felt cloth shown in detail in the figure consists of two superimposed sieve fabrics 2 and 3 and the nonwoven layer 4.
- the two sieve fabrics 2 and 3 are formed in the usual way from the longitudinal threads 6 and 7 and the transverse threads 8 and 9 or 10 and 11. Both sieve fabrics are independent of each other, i. H. neither connected by cross threads nor long threads.
- the fleece layer 4 is formed from the fibers 22 and is located on the paper side of the felt cloth 1.
- the fleece layer 4 is needled onto the two screen fabrics 2 and 3 in the known needle method.
- the fibers 12 running from top to bottom between the longitudinal threads 6 and 7 are intended to represent the needled fibers of the fleece 4.
- the insert consists of adjacent longitudinal threads, which are inserted between the screen fabrics 2 and 3.
- the longitudinal threads of the insert are monofilaments 14 and monofilament twine 13.
- the insert has no transverse threads.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a felt cloth for paper machines, in particular a wet felt for the press section, comprising at least one screen fabric and at least one nonwoven layer needled therewith and an insert.
In the manufacture of paper, felt cloths are required in paper machines in the press section and in the dryer section, which are used to transport the paper web and in particular in the press section to receive and discharge the squeezed water. The felt fabrics used here can be formed from a screen fabric onto which several layers of nonwoven fabric are needled. The disadvantage of these felt towels is that they get dirty relatively quickly, thereby compacting and, finally, can hardly remove water from the paper stock. This applies especially to the wet end of the press section. In order to achieve a longer running time of the wet felts, a felt washing device is often arranged on the press section and the wet felt is then washed continuously or discontinuously during its use in order to keep it open as long as possible and thus functional. The compaction of the wet felt by dirt particles is promoted by the fact that the wet felt is compressed and compacted in the press passage at regular, very frequently recurring intervals. This results in a natural weakening of the elasticity of the fibers and despite all washing devices, an increasing impermeability occurs in the felt core due to the dirt remaining in the felt.
From DE OS 24 37 303, in order to keep the felt cloth as long as possible and thus as long as possible, the felt cloth is formed from a plurality of independent screen fabrics, at least one of the fabrics being needled with a nonwoven layer. The felt cloth consists of several base fabrics, which can move relative to each other, which consequently loosens the needled fibers of the nonwoven fabric, as a result of which the dirt adhering to the fibers is more easily removed from the felt cloth. Felted fabrics with this structure are often used with great success.
Another felt cloth has become known from EP PA 0307183, in which the empty volume is to be retained for as long as possible while reducing the compaction. For this purpose, an insert made of a synthetic mesh layer is placed on the screen fabric, onto which a fleece is needled. This formation of the felt cloth does not bring the desired success, especially in the case of a closely meshed network.
The present invention is based on the object of further developing the known felt towels and achieving an even better drainage performance. The compaction of the felt should be reduced and a longer openness due to less dirt accumulation and thus a longer service life of the felt is sought.
The object is achieved with a felt cloth of the type mentioned in the invention in that the insert is formed only from longitudinal threads and is inserted between the screen fabric and the nonwoven layer and / or the screen fabrics. This insert without transverse threads leads to the formation of channels in the interior of the felt, which ensure improved water flow in and through the felt. This results in the improved drainage performance and longer service life of the felts. A further advantage arises in that the long thread layer prevents the upper fabric from being able to press into the openings of the lower fabric with its offset points. It should be noted that with the same or a similar weave of the screen fabric, this indentation of the cranks in the openings of the adjacent fabric is possible in the course of the pressing during the life of the felt, with the result that the felt is compressed.
Experience has shown that dirt accumulates primarily at the offset points, i.e. H. the binding points of the tissues with the resulting adverse consequences. However, there is no risk of deposits or deposits in the fabric loops in the area of the long threads.
Experiments have shown that the new felt cloth also has a greater flexibility in the transverse direction compared to the prior art, which facilitates the installation of the felt in the paper machine. At the same time, the felt showed excellent dimensional stability.
In the simplest embodiment, the longitudinal threads can be formed from monofilaments. However, the use of monofilament thread is also possible. Likewise, the use of highly elastic threads, such as rubber threads. The thickness of the long threads is preferably selected so that it is approximately 1.3 times the thickness of the sieve fabric threads.
It goes without saying that the basic idea of the present invention, namely the insertion of an insert between Vies and sieve cloth or two sieve cloths, can be used in different combinations with felt cloths. For example, with a three-layer screen fabric, only a single insert can be used, but it is also possible to use two inlays, one of which is inserted between two screen fabrics. Other combinations in, for example, five-layer screen fabrics are also conceivable in order to achieve the effect of the invention. For example, the combination of a fleece, an insert and a sieve fabric or a fleece, two inserts and a sieve fabric is also conceivable.
The invention is explained in more detail with reference to a schematic exemplary embodiment shown in the figure.
The felt cloth shown in detail in the figure consists of two
In the selected example, the longitudinal threads of the insert are
