Abstract

Folded paper tissues are generally packed in thin foil or film. The pack is provided with a tear-open aid having a tear-open flap (27) limited by perforation lines and an adhesive tape (33) partially covering the tear-open flap. For reasons of better handling and economical production of the pack, the tear-open flap (27) is connected to form a unit with part of the end wall (14), namely with an outer longitudinal flap (25) of the same or an adjoining flap (42) or extension (43) formed by the end wall, which can be moved with the aid of the adhesive tape into opening and closing position. In connection with the folding of the end wall (14), the design of the tear-open aid creates an advantageous extraction opening (37) by means of the given width of an inner longitudinal flap (26).

Description

The invention relates to a cuboid packaging made from thin packaging material, in particular from a plastic film, for in particular stacks of folded paper handkerchiefs, with a front wall, a rear wall, side walls, end wall and bottom wall, in the region of a packing wall which is transverse to the front wall, in particular in the Area of the front wall, a longitudinal tab is arranged, and in the area of the rectangular front wall an opening aid with a tear tab and a partially covering adhesive strip or adhesive label for opening and reclosing the tear tab is provided, and wherein the tear tab is connected to the longitudinal tab to form an extension .

Paper handkerchiefs are usually offered in cuboid packaging made from very thin plastic films. Such packaging typically contains ten folded paper handkerchiefs.

Eine derartige Verpackung zeigt beispielsweise die DE-U-7 934 619.For some time now, the film packaging has been equipped with tear-open aids, mostly in a resealable version. In the case of a particularly widespread film packaging of this type, a tear-open tab delimited by perforation lines is arranged in the region of a “large” front wall of the packaging. This extends in the direction of an (upper, small-area) end wall. One end area of the tongue-shaped tear-open tab is provided with an adhesive strip which can be pulled off the front wall with an adhesive-free handle end while taking the tear-open tab with it. This frees up an (upper) removal opening for the handkerchiefs. Such packaging is shown for example in DE-U-7 934 619.

Other embodiments of such foil packaging are also known, e.g. with a reclosable tear-off aid having an adhesive strip in the area of one of the elongated side walls of the packaging.

The invention is concerned with such cuboid (foil) packaging, in particular for paper handkerchiefs. The object of the invention is to design a packaging equipped with a closable tear-open aid in such a way that, on the one hand, inexpensive, large-scale production is possible and, on the other hand, optimal handling by the consumer is ensured.

To solve this problem, the packaging according to the invention is characterized in that the adhesive strip for opening and reclosing the packaging is connected to the extension (longitudinal tab) on the one hand and to the rear wall of the package on the other hand, such that when the package is opened first the extension, namely the outer longitudinal tabs or a part of the same, and then the tear tab is movable in the open position in the region of the front wall.

The extension of the tear tab is the folding flap within the adjacent, subsequent wall of the packs. When opening the same, the folding flap is first removed from the adhesive strip Closing or wall level moved out. The perforation delimiting the tear flap is then severed. A unit consisting of the tear-open tab and the subsequent folding tab can now be moved to form a removal opening. This results in a removal opening which extends within the wall receiving the tear tab and within the adjacent, transverse wall.

In the preferred embodiment of the invention, the tear tab is located in a large front wall of the cuboid packaging, in a region facing a small front wall. The extension adjoining the tear-open tab is an outer folding flap of the end wall or part of the same. The adhesive strip is connected to a partial area with the folding tab, otherwise to a partial area of the front wall and the adjacent rear wall. The package is accordingly opened by pulling the adhesive strip from the rear wall over the front wall, by lifting the outer folding flap and finally by pressing the tear-open flap and closing it again in the reverse manner.

It is also advantageous to fold the blank to form the packaging in such a way that first side flaps are folded in the region of the front wall in extension of the side walls against the contents of the package and then trapezoidal shaped longitudinal flaps with partial mutual overlap. The outer, trapezoidal, longitudinal flap adjoins the tear-open tab on the front wall and is connected to the adhesive strip. Furthermore, according to the invention, the side tabs can be separated from the outer longitudinal tab by a line of perforations during the opening process.

An embodiment of the packaging is particularly advantageous in which the tear-open tab or its extension is guided within the trapezoidal longitudinal tab of the end wall to the free edge of the longitudinal tab with a Width which is somewhat less than that of the longitudinal tab 25. A tear-open tab with a corresponding removal opening, which extends from the free edge of the longitudinal tab to the front wall of the packaging, can be formed by means of corresponding, in particular divergent, perforation lines (side perforations).

Die Verpackung dient zur Aufnahme von gefalteten, in einem Stapel angeordneten Papier-Taschentüchern 17.1 and 2 is cuboid with a large, rectangular front wall 10, a rear wall 11 formed in the same way, elongated side walls 12 and 13 arranged therebetween, an upper end wall 14 consisting of folding tabs and a correspondingly designed bottom wall 15. The packaging thus formed consists of a rectangular blank 16 made of a thin plastic film of z. B. 30 »or more. The packaging serves to hold folded paper handkerchiefs 17 arranged in a stack.

The blank 16 is shown in FIG. 3 as a section of a film web 18. Area areas for forming the packaging walls and folding flaps described above are marked by lines. The blank is folded over the side wall 12 in a U-shape around the stack of paper handkerchiefs 17. Side wall tabs 19 and 20 formed on the free edges overlap one another and are connected to one another to form the (double-layered) side wall 13, in particular by thermal sealing.

Cutting areas protruding below and above form folding tabs for the end wall 14 and the bottom wall 15. First, in the extension of the side walls 12 and 13, extending side tabs 21 and 22 are folded into the plane of the end wall 14 and bottom wall 15. This creates triangular gussets 23, 24 on the inside of longitudinal tabs 25 and 26. These are trapezoidal in shape due to the folding geometry. First, the inner longitudinal tab 26 connected to the rear wall 11 is folded over with the associated gusset 24. Then the outer longitudinal tab 25 with the gusset 23 is folded into the plane of the end wall 14 and bottom wall 15. The longitudinal tabs 25, 26 overlap one another over a large area, as in FIG. 1 evident.

The packaging is equipped with a tear-open aid. For this purpose, a tear tab 27 is formed in the region of the front wall 10. This connects directly to the end wall 14 or to a front edge 28 formed between the front wall 10 and the end wall 14. The tear-open tab 27 is laterally delimited by perforations, namely by tab perforations 29, 30. In the present exemplary embodiment, these extend at the edges of the front wall 10, namely in the region of upright longitudinal edges 31, 32 of the packaging. The tab perforations 29, 30 are limited in length, so that a tear tab 27 of relatively low height, for. B. 1 cm or more.

The tear tab 27 is connected beyond the front edge 28 as an extension to part of the end wall 14, namely to the outer longitudinal tab 25. This is therefore moved together with the tear tab 27 out of the closed position and into it.

The tear-off aid includes an adhesive strip 33, which is designed here as a rectangular strip section, but can also have other geometric shapes. The adhesive strip is coated on one side with a (permanent) adhesive and connects it to the packaging.

The adhesive strip 33 is attached to the packaging at a special location or in a special relative position. At the free end of the adhesive strip 33 there is an adhesive-free grip tab 34 for actuating the adhesive strip 33. One leg 35 of the same - with the grip tab 34 - is connected to the rear wall 11. Another leg 36 extends in the region of the end wall 14 in such a way that a predominant region of this leg 36 of the adhesive strip 33 is connected to the longitudinal tab 25.

When the package is opened, the grip tab 34 is grasped and the leg 35 is then pulled off the rear wall 11. In the further course of the actuation of the adhesive strip 33, the longitudinal tab 25 is raised from the position in the plane of the end wall 14. The tear-open tab 27 is then released from the front wall 10 by destroying the perforation lines (tab perforations 29, 30). In a downward-facing position of the tear-open tab 27 (with longitudinal tabs 25 and adhesive strips 33), a removal opening 37 is uncovered in the region of the front wall 10, which here extends over the full width of the front wall 10 and also includes a part of the front wall 14 on the edge. This makes it easy to remove the paper handkerchiefs without constraint.

The packaging is closed again by pivoting the tear-open tab 27 and the longitudinal tab 25 back into the starting position and by gluing the adhesive strip 33 (leg 35) to the rear wall 11.

The described opening process is made possible by the fact that with the longitudinal tab 25 the gussets 23 associated therewith can also be removed from the plane of the end wall 14. For this purpose, perforation lines 38, 39 are provided in the region of a folded edge between the side tabs 21 and 22 on the one hand and the gussets 23 on the other hand, in continuation of the tab perforations 29, 30. These perforation lines 38, 39 extend after folding the end wall 14 in the front edge 28 or parallel to it. When the package is opened by lifting the longitudinal tab 25, the perforation lines 38, 39 are severed so that the gusset 23 is separated from the side tabs 21, 22 and raised together with the longitudinal tab 25 (FIG. 2).

The folding tabs forming the end wall 14 are expediently partially connected to one another by gluing or sealing. The inner longitudinal tab 26 can be sealed in the area the gusset 24 may be connected to these and to the side tabs 21 and 22. It is also advantageous if the outer longitudinal tab 25 is connected to one or more of the further folding tabs in such a way that the connection is removed or destroyed when the packaging is opened. In the exemplary embodiment shown, the longitudinal tab 25 is connected to the inner longitudinal tab 26 by a punctiform connection, namely by a point seal 40. This point seal 40 is torn open when the package is opened, namely when the longitudinal tab 25 is raised, so that the longitudinal tab 25 is released. In addition, the gusset 23 can be connected to the longitudinal tab 25 by sealing.

Danach wird in der beschriebenen Weise die Aufreißlasche 42 im Bereich der Vorderwand 10 abgezogen.4, 5 and 6 show details of a packaging which corresponds predominantly to the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 to 3. There is a difference in the design of the tear-open aid. In the area of the end wall 14, as a continuation of the tear-open tab 27, a connecting tab 42, likewise delimited by a perforation line 41, is formed. This is covered in the central area by the adhesive strip 33 or by the leg 36 associated with the end wall 14 thereof. When the adhesive strip 33 is pulled off, the connecting tab 42 is first torn out of the connection with the end wall 14 by removing the perforation line 41. Then the tear-open tab 42 is pulled off in the region of the front wall 10 in the manner described.

The connecting lug 42 delimited by an arcuate perforation line 41 is part of the outer longitudinal tab 25 in the exemplary embodiment shown here. To improve stability, this can be connected (firmly) to the inner longitudinal tab 26 by sealing or the like with surface areas lying outside the connecting tab 42.

A further development of the above exemplary embodiment is shown in FIGS. 7 to 9. The tear-open tab also formed here in the front wall 10 is continued or extended 43 as part of the longitudinal tab 25 of the adjacent end wall 14. The extension 43 extends up to a free edge 44 of the trapezoidal longitudinal tab. The extension 43 has a significantly smaller width than the length of the longitudinal tab 25, so that side webs 45 of the longitudinal tab 25 are retained when the packaging is opened in the plane of the end wall 14, namely by permanent connection (thermal sealing, adhesive bonding) with the folding tabs underneath the end wall 14, namely longitudinal tabs 26 and side tabs 21, 22.

The extension 43 of the tear-open tab 27 is delimited in the region of the longitudinal tab 25 by side perforations 46, 47 which, starting from the free edge 44, diverge to the front edge 28. Here, the side perforations 46, 47 go into the tab perforations 29, 30 to limit the tear-open tab on the side 27 in the area of the front wall 10.

In the preferred exemplary embodiment shown, the side perforations 46, 47 in the region of the longitudinal tab 25 are a straight-line continuation of the tab perforations 29, 30, which likewise converge here in the direction of the front edge 28. Accordingly, these each form a straight, continuous perforation together with the side perforations 46, 47 (Fig. 9). In the area of the front wall 10, these tab perforations 29, 30 end at the longitudinal edges 31, 32, so that in this area - at a distance from the front edge 28 - the removal opening extends over the full width of the front wall 10. In contrast, corner gussets 48 remain in a lateral area adjacent to the front edge 28, even when the packaging is open, which give the packaging increased stability.

The middle region of the longitudinal flap 25, namely in the width of the extension 43, is expediently provided on the underside with a coating 49 which prevents the longitudinal flap 25 or the extension 43 from being firmly sealed with folding flaps below it. It can be a lacquer coating, printing or the like.

The removal opening 37 exposed in all of the embodiments ensures easy access to the contents of the package or to the paper handkerchief 17 lying ahead in each case also because the longitudinal tabs 25, 26 have a smaller width than the end wall 14. This makes the inner longitudinal tab 26 open when the packaging is open set back relative to the front edge 28 thereof and enlarges the removal opening 37 here.
