Description

The invention relates to a clamping device with a clamping cage, in which a clamping screw is screwed substantially parallel to an insertion receptacle provided in the clamping cage for an electrical conductor to be connected, in the path of which a pressure piece for the conductor clamping is held rotatably in the clamping cage and a spring for its return is assigned to the open position. In a known clamping device of the generic type (DE 23 57 091 B2) it is achieved by means of the spring that the pressure piece is guided and can also be returned to the open position of the clamping point, but for this purpose a separate spring must be practiced in the interior of the clamping cage , which is not only space-consuming, but also leads to a complicated assembly of such a clamping device.

The present invention is therefore based on the object of providing a clamping device of the generic type which is considerably easier to manufacture with a reduced space requirement.

The solution according to the invention consists essentially in that the spring is formed in one piece with the clamping cage and is guided from its outer contour to the pressure piece. The manufacture of such a clamping device is in particular considerably simplified in that the assembly of a separate spring for returning the pressure piece to its open position inside the clamping cage is eliminated. In contrast, the manufacture of the clamping cage is only very insignificantly complicated by the shaping of the spring, in particular also because clamping cages of this type are usually designed as punched and bent parts on which the additional formation of a spring is possible in a very simple manner. The arrangement is also extraordinary Lich space-saving, since the spring is no longer in the inner receiving space of the clamping cage, but is guided to the pressure piece from the outer contour, where appropriate space is available due to the system.

According to a particularly preferred embodiment, the pressure piece is an elongated lever oriented essentially parallel to the insertion receptacle for the conductor, to which the molded-on spring in turn extends essentially parallel and engages behind it with an angled end piece. Thanks to this design, the clamping device is particularly narrow and compact, since the insertion receptacle, clamping screw, pressure piece and spring can be moved very closely together. According to a further preferred embodiment, the pressure piece is a double arm lever and the zone of application of the clamping screw on the double arm lever is on the same side of the axis of rotation of the double arm lever as the zone of clamping of the double arm lever with respect to the conductor, while the zone of application of the spring is provided on the opposite side of the axis of rotation of the double arm lever . This structural design also contributes to a particularly compact, space-saving design and also has the further considerable advantage that the clamping of the conductor practically results in a direct force short circuit between the effective end of the clamping screw, the pressure piece, the conductor and the corresponding counter bearing surface for the conductor Clamping cage takes place, in particular without a direct intermediate connection of the spring, the force of which flows into the axis of rotation only via a corresponding lever arm. This means that any influence of the spring on the clamping process is advantageously practically eliminated, even with large-sized clamping devices.

A preferred embodiment of a clamping device according to the invention is described below with reference to the drawing.
Show it
  • FIG. 1 shows a partially broken side view of a clamping device according to the invention, illustrating different positions of the active elements concerned,
  • Figure 2 is a plan view of the clamping device according to Figure 1.

The clamping device includes a clamping cage 1, which is formed in a known manner as a stamped and bent part made of sheet metal, an overlap part 2 being formed from the cut in the upper region and provided with a thread 3 into which the clamping screw 4 is screwed. An insertion receptacle 5 for an electrical conductor 6 to be plugged in here to be connected is formed in the clamping cage 1. To fix the inserted electrical conductor 6, a pressure piece 7 is rotatably mounted in the clamping cage 1, which in the illustrated embodiment is designed as an elongated lever, in particular a double-arm lever, the axis of rotation 8 of which lies in the lower end region of the clamping cage 1 facing away from the entry of the clamping screw 4. The pressure piece 7 is acted upon by screwing in the clamping screw 4 from its lower active end along an application zone 9. Since the pressure piece is elongated and essentially parallel to the insertion receptacle 5 of the clamping cage 1, the pressure presses piece 7 then immediately and immediately the plugged-in conductor with a corresponding clamping zone 10, for example against a busbar section 11 provided in the clamping cage 1. The fact that the contact surface 9 on the pressure piece 7 can have a relatively large distance from the axis of rotation 8 results in a good conductor pressure with a smaller one Screwing force even if the axis of the clamping screw 4 is only slightly offset from the axis of rotation 8 of the pressure piece 7. For the dependent guidance of the position of the clamping screw 4 of the pressure piece 7, and in particular for its automatic return to the open position, which facilitates the insertion of the conductor, a spring 12 is provided, which is integrally formed on the clamping cage 1 in a structurally simple manner, as in the exemplary embodiment shown shown, expediently on the upper, the thread 3 for the clamping screw 4 overlap part 2 of the clamping cage 1. The spring 12 is brought from the outer contour of the clamping cage 1 to the pressure piece 7. Particularly expediently, the spring 12 initially runs essentially parallel to the elongated pressure piece 7 from its upper shaping area and then engages under it with an angled end 13. In this way, the loading zone 14 of the pressure piece 7 for the spring 12 lies on the opposite side of the Axis of rotation 8, based on the contact surface 9 for the clamping screw 4 and based on the clamping zone 10 for the conductor 6 to be connected to this pressure piece 7. When the electrical conductor 6 to be connected is clamped, this means a direct frictional connection from the corresponding effective end of the clamping screw 7 via the upper one Part of the pressure piece 7, just the conductor 6 and finally the current rail 11, in particular excluding the spring 12. When pivoting the pressure piece 7 in the sense of the conductor clamping, the spring 12 is spread a little outwards under appropriate tension from the end region of the pressure piece opposite the clamping zone, this small spreading, also in connection with the relative Large length of the spring 12 extending parallel to the pressure piece 7 is sufficient, in conjunction with the lever arm, which exists between the loading zone 14 and the axis of rotation 8, the pressure piece 7 when the clamping screw 4 is screwed back, releasing the electrical conductor 6 into its open position to follow.
