Description

The invention relates to an ink pot for felt pens for labeling posters or the like, with an ink container and a lid with at least one opening for receiving a felt pen, wherein in the ink container a protruding against the bottom of the container and ending just above this is attached , in the interior of which there is an absorbent body, which is covered at the top by a paint cushion in contact with the absorbent body, against which the felt-tip pen inserted into the relevant lid opening lies.

In an ink cup known from DE-OS 29 07 531, the ink container is almost completely filled by an ink pad made of felt, which must always be kept well soaked with ink. The felt pens of this ink pot are inserted into the openings in the lid when not in use, and they protrude so far into the interior of the ink pot that they touch the ink pad soaked with ink with the felt attached in their writing head. The writing felt can soak up when the felt pen is not in use by contact with the ink pad with ink, so that the felt pen is always ready for use. Since in the known ink cup the interior of the ink container is almost completely filled by the ink pad made of felt, the ink holding capacity is limited, so that ink often has to be refilled. For refilling, the felt-tip pens must first be removed from the lid openings, then the lid must be opened, whereupon the ink can finally be poured onto the ink pad from its own storage container. To avoid refilling too often, the user is tempted to pour as much ink as possible onto the ink pad, which often results in more ink being filled than the ink pad can hold. If such a freshly filled ink container accidentally falls over, the ink can immediately flow out through the openings in the lid, which can lead to extremely unpleasant soiling that is difficult and often impossible to remove. The known ink cup is therefore not entirely satisfactory either in terms of the ink holding capacity or in terms of its handling.

These disadvantages are already avoided in an ink cup known from the preamble of claim 1 US Pat. No. 2,620,499. This prior publication describes an ink pot for felt pens for labeling posters or the like, with an ink container and a lid with a single opening for receiving a felt pen, wherein an ink nozzle protruding against the bottom of the container and ending just above it is attached in the ink container, in the interior of which there is a suction body, which is covered at the top by a color pad in contact with the suction body, against which the felt-tip pen inserted into the relevant lid opening lies.

With this known ink pot, however, only a single felt tip pen can be inserted. A similar ink cup is previously known from French patent specification 2,089,754.

The invention is therefore based on the object of creating an ink pot which offers the same advantages as the known ink pots, in particular has a large ink capacity, but additionally allows the recording of several felt-tip pens without the risk of contamination from leaking ink.

According to the invention this object is achieved in that for the simultaneous inclusion of several felt pens, the suction nozzle at its upper end in the form of a funnel cone extends upwards, into which the suction body is extended to form a suction funnel, that the outer edge of this funnel cone with the inner wall of the Ink container is in contact, the cone opening is spanned by the ink pad. and that a number of openings corresponding to the number of felt-tip pens to be accommodated is provided in the lid within the area delimited by the funnel cone opening, so that all felt-tip pens inserted into these openings contact the ink pad together.

In the ink cup according to the invention, the suction funnel located in the ink container creates a free space which can be filled with ink. The ink is supplied from this room to the ink pad through the suction body in the suction funnel, which keeps the ink pad with which the felt-tip pens are in contact with ink when not in use. Since the ink tank is no longer almost completely filled by the ink pad, its ink holding capacity is large. Despite the presence of the relatively large amount of ink in the ink container, there is a relatively good leak-proofness since the ink is now transported from the absorbent body to the absorbent pad due to the capillary action, which means that the liquid ink that is not stored in a fiber material cannot leak out of the ink container if this falls over. In addition, the shape of the funnel cone at the upper end of the suction nozzle ensures that several felt-tip pens can be received at the same time. When the ink supply in the ink tank is used up, the entire ink tank with the suction funnel, the suction body and the ink pad is replaced as a unit by a new, filled ink tank, so that the annoying refilling of ink is unnecessary. This considerably reduces the risk of contamination.

Advantageous developments of the invention are characterized in the subclaims.

Embodiments of the invention will now be explained with reference to the drawing. The drawing shows:
  • 1 is a perspective view of an ink pot according to the invention with three felt pens inserted in openings in the lid,
  • 2 shows a section along the line 11-11 of FIG. 1, only one of the felt-tip pens being inserted into the cover of the ink pot to simplify the illustration,
  • Fig. 3 is a section along the line III-III of Fig. 2, and
  • Fig. 4 is a section corresponding to the section of Fig. 2 of a second embodiment of the ink cup according to the invention.

The ink pot 1 shown in FIG. 1 contains a housing 2, into which an ink container 3, which can only be seen in FIG. 2, is inserted. In a cover 4 connected to the housing 2 there are openings 5, 6, 7 into which felt pens 8, 9 and 10 are inserted. The felt pens each have a writing head 11, 12, 13 and a shaft 14, 15, 16. The writing heads 11, 12, 13 are shaped differently to accommodate writing felts of different sizes, which enables the writing of posters with fonts of different widths. The exact structure of a felt-tip pen is explained in more detail with reference to FIG. 2 for the felt-tip pen 8.

A viewing window 17 is provided in the wall of the ink container 3 and there is a slot 18 in the wall of the housing 2, the dimensions of which correspond to those of the viewing window. Through the slot 18 and the viewing window 17, it is possible to recognize the ink level in the ink tank.

In the sectional view of Fig. 2, the details of the structure of the ink cup of Fig. 1 can be seen. The ink container 3 inserted into the housing 2 contains a suction funnel 20 with a funnel cone 21 and a suction nozzle 22. The outer edge 23 of the funnel cone 21 is in contact with the inner wall of the ink container 3; it engages in a groove 24 provided in the inner wall of the ink container 3. The ink tank is made of a plastic material that is slightly elastically deformable; as a result, the suction funnel, which is made of rigid material, can easily be pressed into the ink container from above until the outer edge of the suction funnel 20 engages in the groove 24. The suction funnel 20 is thereby securely held in the ink container 3. The inside of the suction funnel 20 is filled with a suction body 25, which consists of a nonwoven material composed predominantly of longitudinal fibers. The fibers of the absorbent body are preferably polyester fibers. A paint pad 26 is attached above the funnel cone 21 of the suction funnel 20 and is in contact with the suction body 25. The ink pad 26 is made of a felt material. To anchor the ink pad 26 in the ink container 3, a retaining ring 27 is used, which is attached to the ink pad 26 such that its outer edge 28 engages in a groove 29 in the wall of the ink container 3. The groove 29 is arranged at a distance corresponding to the thickness of the ink pad 26 above the groove 24. The attachment of the retaining ring 27 in the ink container 3 presents no difficulties due to the deformability of the ink container 3. The retaining ring 27 can also be connected in one piece to the edge of the funnel cone, in which case the groove 29 can be omitted.

The space below the suction funnel 20 is almost completely filled with ink when the ink container 3 is not in use. The absorbent body 25 transports the ink by capillary action upwards to the ink pad 26, so that it is constantly kept soaked with ink. The ink container 3 is completely closed by the ink pad 26 and the retaining ring 27, so that no ink can leak if the container is accidentally knocked over. The ink pad 26 is constantly soaked with ink, but even if the ink container 3 is held with the ink pad down, it takes a relatively long time until the ink pad 26 becomes saturated with ink so that drops detach from it. Under no circumstances will the ink flow out directly.

The structure of the felt-tip pen 8 can also be seen in FIG. This felt-tip pen 8 is inserted into the opening 5 in the cover 4. For secure holding, an inwardly projecting guide sleeve 31 is attached to the opening 5. This guide sleeve 31 is also conical in adaptation to the conical write head 11. Guide sleeves 32 and 33 are also attached to the openings 6 and 7 in the cover 4 and serve to accommodate the write heads 12 and 13, respectively. The conical design of the print heads and the guide sleeves has the advantage that the felt pens do not fall through the openings when the cover 4 is removed from the housing 2, but can be lifted off the housing 2 together with the cover 4.

The writing head 11 of the felt-tip pen 8 consists of a handle 34, a clamping sleeve 35 and a writing felt 36. The handle 34 has a conical outer shape. The inner surface of the handle 34 is also conical and is in contact with the conical outer surface of the clamping sleeve 35. The shaft 14 of the felt pen 8 is tubular and it contains a storage body 37 made of absorbent nonwoven material. A closure piece 38 is screwed into the end of the shaft 14 facing away from the write head.

The shaft 14 is screwed to the handle 34, whereby, as can be seen from FIG. 2. in the screwed-in state, the writing felt 36 protrudes so far into the shaft 14 that it touches the storage body 37. The shaft 14 is dimensioned so that when it is screwed into the handle 34, it presses on the clamping sleeve 35, which as a result of the conical configuration of the clamping sleeve 35 and the inner surface of the handle 34 leads to the felt 36 being securely fixed in the writing head 11 gets stuck.

The writing felt 36 is in contact with the ink pad 26 when the felt pen 8 is inserted into the opening 5. In this way it is ensured that the writing felt 36 of the felt-tip pen 8 is always soaked with ink. The writing felt 36 transports the ink supplied to it from the ink pad 26 to the storage body 37, which thereby also absorbs ink. The felt-tip pen 8 can therefore be used for a relatively long time before it has to be fed with ink again from the ink pad 26. When the tip of the felt 36 has worn, the stylus 11 is unscrewed from the shaft 14 and a new stylus is inserted; touching the felt 36 is not necessary so that the user does not contaminate the fingers with ink. The storage body 37 remains in the shaft 14 so that the new writing felt 36 is quickly soaked with ink until the writing condition is reached.

The cover 4 can be connected to the housing 2, for example by screwing. However, it is preferably connected to the housing 2 by means of a bayonet lock, since this speeds up the closing and opening process. The production of the grooves and projections for a bayonet lock is also easier than the production of a screw thread with multiple threads.

As was explained in connection with FIG. 1, a viewing window 17 is provided in the ink container 3 and a slot 18 is provided in the housing 2 so that the ink level can be checked at any time. The ink container 3 must, however, occupy such a position in the housing 2 that the viewing window 17 is exactly in register with the slot. So that the ink container always assumes this predetermined position in the housing 2, a web 40 is attached to the wall of the housing 2, and the wall of the ink container 3 has a corresponding groove 41, the width and shape of which corresponds to the width and shape of the web 40 . Due to the presence of the web 40, the ink container 3 can only be properly inserted into the housing 2 if the groove 41 receives the web 40. In this way it is ensured that the ink container 3 is always in a predetermined position in the housing 2. 3 shows the interaction of the web 40 and the groove 41 in a sectional view.

If the ink container 3 is made of a material through which the ink level can be recognized even without the provision of a special viewing window, it is of course sufficient to provide the slot 18 in the wall of the housing 2 in order to enable the level to be checked continuously.

In this embodiment, the ink container 3 is not housed in its own housing 2, on which the lid 4 is then attached. The cover 4 is rather connected directly to the ink container 3 in this embodiment. When the ink supply in the ink container 3 is exhausted in the case of an ink cup according to this exemplary embodiment, the cover 4 is picked up and placed on a new filled ink container 3. Apart from this difference, the ink cup of Fig. 4 is the same as the ink cup shown in Fig. 2, so that further description can be omitted.

Since several colors are generally used when labeling or painting posters, the user needs several ink pots and corresponding felt-tip pens for the respective colors at the same time. In order to avoid, for example, that a felt-tip pen, the writing felt of which is soaked with black paint, is accidentally inserted into the associated opening in the lid of an ink fountain filled with red ink, the lid and the closure piece 38 on the associated felt-tip pen can each be in a color corresponding to the ink color be executed. The different colors can thus be easily distinguished, and the assignment of the felt pens to the associated ink cup is made considerably easier.

The ink containers 3 are hermetically sealed in the unused state with a sealing film, the edge of which is glued to the upper edge of the container wall. Before the ink container 3 is inserted into the housing 2 (in the embodiment of FIG. 2) or before the cover 4 is screwed on (in the embodiment of FIG. 4), the sealing film is peeled off, so that the ink pad 26 is removed from the felt pens' writing felt can be touched.
