Auf der senkrecht nach oben stehenden Bördelung 5 ist ein Blechdeckel 7 mit seinem Bördelrand 8 aufgesetzt und mit diesem verpreßt. Die nach innen stehende Bördelung 6 liegt unmittelbar an der Unterseite des Blechdeckels 7 an. Beim Herausreißen des Mittelabschnittes des Blechdeckels 7 bleibt ein Rand 9 stehen, der ins Behälterinnere steht, die Bördelung 6 überragt diesen Rand 9 jedoch soweit, daß seine untere Kante 10 nicht berührt werden kann. In den Fig. 2 und 3 ist der Werdegang der Doppelbördelung dargestellt. Am oberen Rand des Behältermantels 2 ist eine Mundrolle 11 angebördelt, aus der in einem weiteren Arbeitsgang die in Fig. 3 gezeigte Doppelbördelung gebildet ist.
