Description

The invention relates to an ointment applicator with the packaging containing the ointment, which can be emptied by pressure actuation, with a piston and a piston rod, a wall opening being provided in the packaging container for dispensing the ointment.

Such an ointment applicator is known for example from DE-AS 1 914 754. In this known ointment applicator, the ointment is dispensed through an opening at the end. Furthermore, the packaging container is relatively large and the known ointment applicator is not considered to be favorable in terms of allocation and use in every respect. It is therefore a technical problem of the invention, starting from DE-AS 1 914 754, to form an ointment applicator together with the packaging container in terms of structural design and use which is most economical, with the hygienic conditions in particular being optimally taken into account.

This object is achieved by the invention specified in claim 1.

Die Unteransprüche sind vorteilhafte Weiterbildungen des Gegenstandes der Erfindung. The subclaims are advantageous developments of the subject matter of the invention.

As a result of such an embodiment, a generic ointment applicator is created which, easy to use, can also be safely handled by the layperson. The destination, for example the zone of the pain-sensitive anoderm, is fully covered due to the diverging wall openings. The packaging container designed as a cartridge can also be easily and conveniently assigned or the emptied cartridge removed. A collar creating the corresponding connection area can be molded onto the free end of the cartridge without any special effort. Such a collar also stabilizes the neck area; the cartridge wall can be kept very thin. In addition, a piston assembly with ventilation is provided for the cartridge. The means in this regard are simple and practical. For example, the piston, which is matched to the front, smaller cross section of the cartridge, sits in a larger cross-sectional insertion area of the cartridge, in which area there is an air-permeable contact between the piston sealing surface and the inner wall of the larger cross-sectional end. In this way, it is prevented that the piston initially seals immediately, which, depending on the fill level, could lead to a build-up of pressure on the medium, so that this - even if to a small extent - would be displaced prematurely via the diverging wall openings. In addition, the tightness in the rear cartridge area is achieved by simple means until the first use, in that the front end is closed with a membrane that can only be penetrated by the piston rod of the application handle. In a structurally advantageous embodiment, the air-permeable system is formed by free spaces between ribs of the cartridge inner wall lying in the direction of piston movement. The corresponding ribbing provided at the same angular distribution also leads to a stabilization of this rear cartridge area. Characterized in that the ridge of the ribs springs back slightly relative to the inner wall of the smaller cartridge cross section and the piston sealing surface is formed by sealing rings of the conical piston, a noticeable locking step results. The piston cannot shift due to its own weight. In contrast, when the piston is moved deliberately, the corresponding step is overcome relatively easily. An advantageous embodiment further consists in that the piston piston end, the membrane rod penetrating end of the piston rod is frustoconical in shape and enters the rear recess of the piston with positive engagement of the truncated cone surface, the sealing rings of the piston being offset against the direction of displacement thereof Touch the surface of the truncated cone. This has the advantage that the forces displacing the piston act on it in a centering manner. The surprisingly short piston cannot tilt. Because the thrust contact takes place at the leading section of the piston, the sealing part of the piston carrying the sealing rings is dragged along. In addition, the end of the piston rod which has entered the recess forms a favorable stiffening of the piston tip. The latter or even the entire piston can therefore be made extremely thin-walled. The corresponding material savings have a significant impact on a mass-produced item like this. The ointment applicator and the cartridge can be brought into a condition suitable for use in no time at all: For this purpose, an axially or radially directed annular groove-rib clip connection is selected between the rear collar of the cartridge and the front edge of the ointment applicator. The corresponding, laterally open or complete ring wrap has a stabilizing effect on the connecting zone of the two parts; there is, as it were, a ripe wrap. Through the further measure that the free end of the piston rod is guided in a central sleeve, which ends with the front edge of the applicator housing and continues at the same level in the partially perforated ceiling of this housing, a stable abutment is achieved with ' structurally simple means for the cartridge. Furthermore, it proves to be advantageous that the piston leaves an annular space between itself and the piston rod for the occurrence of the consequent puncture of the inwardly turned membrane perforated edge part. The perforated edges of the membrane cannot be pinched in this way; rather, the piston can be easily pushed forward. In addition, the corresponding annulus favors the Self-correcting alignment of the piston and piston rod. Loss-free dispensing of the filling material is achieved with simple means in that the mouth end of the cartridge is designed approximately according to the shape of the plunger tip, it also being advantageous with regard to hygienic covering of the cartridge and for filling it that at least the perforated area of the Cartridge is covered by a protective cap that tightly seals the wall openings. Nothing can escape, for example due to static pressure. When the protective cap is pushed on before filling, the displaced air can also escape through the wall openings. For the subsequent removal of the protective cap, it is then advantageous that the protective cap base has an air compensation opening that can be closed by the free end of the cartridge. A reliable sealing of this air compensation opening is achieved with simple means in that the free end of the cartridge is designed as a hemispherical dome and the protective cap ends with its front edge at a small distance in front of the upper ring surface of the collar and in a tight fit on the lateral surface of the widened wall offset, cross-sectional larger end is held. Finally, the invention still suggests that the application handle is tubular, with only a short partial length of completely closed tube wall and in the rear area, where the tube wall extends only a little more than half the circumference, of the operating plate of the piston rod , Which control panel is partially protruding sideways over the edge edges of the tube wall that delimit an elongated gripping opening. The control panel is easily accessible. The corresponding wrap through the jacket wall also brings an advantageous clip assignment for the control panel. The basic position can be realized as a locked position.

The packaging container designed as a cylindrical cartridge 1 contains ointment 2 (a small filling section is indicated by a dot structure).

The cartridge end on the insertion side is rounded to form a dome 3. The round section merges into a short, frustoconical zone, which adjoins the cylindrical section of the cartridge. The rear end of the cartridge forms an outwardly directed collar 4.

The cartridge 1, which is hollowed along its entire length, is equipped with diverging wall openings 5. The latter are designed to be circular and lying at staggered levels. In the exemplary embodiment, starting at a distance from the collar 4, a total of four rows of holes oriented in the longitudinal direction and at the same angle to one another extend shortly before the dome 3. To illustrate this situation, only a fraction of the ointment 2 is illustrated. The dome 3 itself is not perforated.

A push-on protective cap which tightly closes the wall openings 5 when the packaging container is in the stored state is designated by 6. It is a pot-shaped, cylindrical body that ends in contact with the dome zenith. For the contacting contact between the dome 3 and the protective cap base 8, which has a central air compensation opening 7, the protective cap ends with its front edge at a short distance from the top, ie. H. in the direction of the end of the cartridge facing collar 4.

The protective cap 6 is held in the adhesive seat on the cartridge 1. For this purpose, the cartridge section facing away from the dome 3 merges into an area 9 which is enlarged in cross-section due to wall offset. This larger cross-sectional area 9 forms the insertion area for a piston 10 which is dimensionally matched to the front, smaller cartridge cross-section. The latter is located in an air-permeable system between the piston sealing surface and the inner wall of this cross-sectional area 9. The air-permeable system is located in the space 11 between the piston movement direction (arrow x) Ribs 12 of the inner wall of the area 9 are formed. Reference is made to FIG. 4, which clearly shows this situation.

Letztere bildet einen willensbetont überwindbaren Anschlag für den eingesetzten Kolben 10.The crest of the above, arranged in the same angular distribution, piston leader acting ribs 12 jumps over the inner wall of the smaller cartridge cross-section slightly, so that in 'the transition zone between a widened and reduced cross-sectional area of a recognizable from FIG. 2 slight step 13 voriiegt. The latter forms a stop that can be overcome by the will for the piston 10 used.

The sealing surface of the piston 10 consists of two parallel sealing rings 14 which are perpendicular to the piston movement direction x and which are integrally formed on the piston 10.

The cartridge 1 filled with ointment 2 and then filled with pistons is sealed. A membrane 15 serves as a sealing means. This membrane, which is dimensionally matched to the base of the cartridge and covers the front end of the same, can be pierced by actuating a piston rod 16 of an application handle A.

The application handle A consists of a cylindrical housing 17 receiving the piston rod 16 centrally. The piston rod merges outwards into an operating plate 18. The starting position of the piston rod 16 is locked. For this purpose, the control panel 18 instructs an annular groove 19 on its circular jacket wall. A latching projection 20 of the housing 2 engages in the latter or vice versa.

Fig. 1). To move the piston rod 16, the operator grips with his thumb a lateral, longitudinal gripping opening 21 of the housing 17, while the index and middle fingers are supported on the wings 22 on the housing. The wings 22 are located in the area of the connection zone between the application handle A and the cartridge 1. They extend radially starting from the housing tube wall, in a diametrically opposed position. The gripping opening 18 extends into the vicinity of this connection zone. The free cut bringing the gripping opening 21 leaves a residual wall, the edges 17 'of which extend over their predominant length section only a little more than half the circumference of the operating panel 18. The control panel is sufficiently guided and can be clipped in practically from the side. The guide in the end region of the housing 17 on the cartridge side is further formed by a central sleeve 23 in the form of an axial indentation of the ceiling 24 of the housing. The ceiling 24 essentially forms the front section of the housing 17. It is partially interrupted. In addition, a support rib 25 fills the inner corner to the ceiling from the jacket wall of the sleeve 23. The support rib 25 extends radially and can be provided several times. The outside of the cover 24 represents the abutment of the cartridge sealed on the end face. From the cover, the housing continues with the formation of an insert slot 26 which receives the collar 4 in a form-fitting manner and is open on the transverse side. The slot-forming section is also cut away a little less than half here (see FIG. 1). The slot width corresponds to the height of the collar 4, so that, in addition to a radial, there is also a stable axial fixation, including the membrane 15, which also serves as a clamping cushion. The overlapping flank of the insertion slot has a cut-back, so that the inserted protective cap is also partially enclosed at the end. In the case of axially oriented clip assignment, the edge flank would have a plug-in funnel open to the outside, the wall of which could be slit several times in the axial direction in order to facilitate plug-in assignment.

The end of the otherwise cylindrical piston rod 16 on the cartridge side is frustoconical. The cone-shaped piston 10 has a recess 27 corresponding to the inclination of the cone, so that the end of the piston rod, with a positive fit, with its truncated cone lateral surface 28 comes into alignment with the corresponding funnel-shaped inner surface 29. In contrast, the piston rings 14 bringing the piston sealing surface extend clearly at a rearward distance. The piston 10 is dragged as it were, which benefits a completely tilt-free guidance.

The piston 10 further leaves an annular space 30 between itself and the piston rod 16. This can be seen in FIG. 2. The protruding position of the piston rod can be seen from the dash-dotted lines. The perforated edge portions torn when piercing the membrane 15 thus push into this annular space 30. They do not come into a clamping position with the piston. The length of the recess 27 is greater than the inner diameter of the piston.

As can further be seen from FIG. 2, the mouth end or the dome 3 with a subsequent truncated cone section has a shape which corresponds to the shape of the rounded piston tip. As a result, the filling content is dispensed essentially completely free of residue.

To pull off the protective cap, it has a transverse gripping projection 31 in the region of its base 8.

The handling is as follows: the full cartridge 1, the filling space of which is closed by means of the membrane 15 extending in the back of the piston, is locked in place with the application handle. The protective cap is then removed. The latter is facilitated by the air compensation opening; nor is any ointment drawn off through the wall openings. By pressing on the control panel 18, which takes place while overcoming the slight detent there between the annular groove 19 and the detent projection 20, the piston rod extending in the longitudinal central axis y-y of the cartridge can be axially displaced in the direction of the arrow x. It approaches the membrane 15. The latter is pierced. The edges of the holes disappear in the annular space 30 of the piston recess 27. The piston displacement which now begins brings the filling material to the destination. To release the cartridge, the protective cap 6 can be put back on, so that the operator does not come into contact with the residual ointment. The air compensation opening 7 allows the displaced air lying in front of the tip of the cartridge to escape.

The cartridge is pre-assembled in this way: First, it is filled. The attached protective cap prevents ointment from escaping through the openings 5; the air compensation opening is kept closed by the dome 3 *. The piston 10 is then pulled open. The displaced air escapes through the free spaces 11. Sealing is then carried out by means of the membrane 15. This can be heat sealing or else simple adhesive bonding.
