Description

The invention relates to a polygonal, in particular rectangular frame for manhole covers, which is composed of a plurality of frame parts running along the frame side, on which support and / or inclined sealing surfaces for a cover are formed.

Well-known and increasingly used are manhole covers, in which the cover rests sealingly on all sides with obliquely inclined side surfaces on correspondingly inclined sealing surfaces of the frame, namely the sealing surfaces of the frame are positive on three sides, i. H. diverging upwards, while the fourth side is negative, i. H. has undercut inclined sealing surface. As a result, as well as through precise machining of the support and sealing surfaces, a rattle-free, water- and gas-tight cover is achieved.

The frames of these manhole covers are composed of individual parts that are screwed together using flanges. With these frame parts, frames of different shapes and sizes can be assembled according to the modular principle. Since in this frame at least two frame parts have differently inclined sealing surfaces and therefore meet differently inclined or oriented sealing surfaces at the corners, each frame part must be designed differently in the previously known frame. There must therefore be at least one per frame at least four different frame parts are manufactured and kept in stock. With a complete range of covers that are staggered by light width and classified according to load capacity, this requires a large number of cast models and a very extensive inventory. This increases when frames for lids with different insertion depths and / or inclinations of the side surfaces are to be provided.

The invention has for its object to simplify the manufacture of manhole covers of the type mentioned.

This object is achieved in that each frame part is interchangeable with the frame part opposite it after turning through 180 ° about an axis parallel to the frame plane.

Man kann also z. This has the advantage that one and the same frame part can also be installed on the opposite side of the frame. So you can z. B. form two opposing frame parts identically, so that one can make do with the previously known construction with half the number of different frame parts, which simplifies manufacture and storage accordingly. Despite the identical design of the frame parts, the measure that the one frame part is installed turned through 180 ° relative to the opposite frame part achieves the desired different orientation of the inclination of the sealing surfaces. But it is also possible to design the frame parts opposite each other so differently that they in the turned and exchanged installation position are adapted to a cover with a different insertion depth and / or inclination of the side surfaces. In this case, the number of different frame parts required for a frame is not reduced, but the frame can be adapted to a different cover shape by a different assembly.

Further refinements of the invention result from the subclaims. In particular, by the measure that only two opposite frame parts have flanges for the corner connection, the other two flange-less frame parts can be cut to length from a longer profile strand, which leads to a further simplification of the production and storage.

The frame shown in Fig. 1-4 is rectangular and composed of four frame parts 1, 2, 3, 4, which are screwed together at the corners. These Frame parts have smooth sealing surfaces 11, 12, 13, 14 on the inside of the frame. These sealing surfaces are inclined relative to the frame plane (XY plane in FIG. 4), namely the sealing surfaces 11, 12 and 14 have an outward or upward inclination, while the sealing surface 13 is inclined inwards or downwards, that is to say undercut is. The sealing surfaces 11 and 13 run parallel to one another, the sealing surfaces 12 and 14 diverge upwards. These sealing surfaces interact with the lateral butt surfaces of a cover (not shown) which is inclined in the same way and which can be inserted into the frame, engaging under the sealing surface 13. The frame parts 2 and 4 also have inwardly projecting flanges to form a respective support surface 22, 24 which runs parallel to the frame plane and on which the cover can rest. The manufactured with little undersized frame parts 1, 2, 3 are g in preparing the Schachtabdeckun, 4 first loosely screwed together, then the lid on the support surfaces 22, applied 24, and then tightened the screw connection of the frame parts, to the sealing surfaces 1, 12, 13 , 14 fit tightly against the side abutting surfaces of the cover. A sealing compound, which then solidifies, can be inserted into the butt joints between the frame parts at the frame corners.

The mutually opposite frame parts 1 and 3 have an identical shape, as do the frame parts 2 and 4. The frame part 3 is rotated relative to the frame part 1 by 180 ° with respect to an axis which is parallel to the frame plane and parallel to the longitudinal center line of the frame part 1 and 3 runs, ie about an axis parallel to the X axis indicated in FIG. 4. As a result, the sealing surfaces 11, 13 reach the desired pa parallel arrangement. These frame parts 1 and 3 have no contact surfaces for the lid.

The frame part 2 has not only an inwardly projecting flange which forms the support surface 22, but also an outwardly projecting flange which forms a further support surface 22 '. The same applies to the identically designed frame part 4. The frame part 4 is rotated with respect to the frame part 2 by 180 ° with respect to an axis which runs parallel to the frame plane and perpendicular to the longitudinal center line of the frame part 2 or 4, that is to say about a parallel to the specified X axis Axis.

For the purpose of corner screwing, only the frame parts 2 and 4 are provided with flanges 8, 9 projecting at right angles, which are also inclined to the frame plane (X-Y plane), so that they abut the inclined frame parts 1, 3. The flanges 8, 9 do not extend over the entire height of the frame parts 2, 4, but rather leave the space required for supporting the cover above the support surfaces 22, 24 or below the support surfaces 22 ', 24'. The same applies to any stiffening ribs 16, 17 of the frame parts 2 and 4, which are also arranged on both sides, but not continuously over the entire height.

In contrast, the frame parts 1, 3 have stiffening ribs 18, 19 only on one side, the vertical ribs 19 being able to pass over the entire height. At the corners, frame parts 1 and 3 have no flanges. To produce the frame parts 1, 3, therefore, only corresponding pieces need to be cut off from a longer profile strip and with a bore be provided for receiving the screws for the corner screw.

Changes to the illustrated embodiment are possible within the scope of the invention. Thus, the individual frame parts do not have to go through the entire side length of the frame, but several shorter frame parts can also be put together. Furthermore, it is also possible to provide an inwardly projecting flange on the two frame parts 1 and 3 to form a support surface for the cover. This flange must of course be shorter than the length of the frame parts 1, 3 and also such an embodiment requires that the insertion depth of the cover is less than half the frame height so that a central flange can form a bearing surface on both sides.

The embodiment of FIG. 5 differs from that of FIG. 4 only in that the support surfaces 22, 24 are placed lower, so that the distance of the support surfaces 22, 24 from the upper edge of the frame parts 2, 4 is greater than the distance of (Not required in this installation position) support surfaces 22 ', 24' from the lower edge of the frame parts 2, 4. The frame parts 2, 4 are therefore mirror-symmetrical to one another with respect to the axis Y, but are no longer identical. If the frame parts 2, 4 are rotated through 180 ° with respect to the axis X and then exchanged with one another, then the support surfaces 22 ', 24' come into the operating position on the inside of the frame and can then serve as support surfaces for a cover with a lower insertion depth.
