Description

The invention relates to a single-layer or multi-layer band made of flexible material, such as leather, plastic or the like, with the end folded over to form a loop, a substantially U-shaped leaf spring being connected to the band in the region of the loop.

It is known to fix the loop in the case of tapes by gluing the end of the tape turned over to form the loop. It has also already been proposed to arrange metal strips in the loop region of the band which, after the band end has been bent over to form the loop, absorb part of the tension of the band material which arises during the bending. Finally, various hook-like designs at the ends of the tapes are known, with which the tapes on webs, e.g. of clocks. A watch strap is known from FR-PS 2 166 463, which has a carabiner-like hook with which it can be attached to a watch. An approximately U-shaped leaf spring is provided in the area to be fastened to the watch.

The problem with the known loop designs is the fact that both the mounting and the replacement of tapes is difficult because the loops on the one hand have to be reliably closed for a secure hold, but on the other hand should be easy to open for fastening or removing.

The invention has for its object to develop a band of the type mentioned so that the loop can be easily opened or closed.

According to the invention this is achieved in that at least one of the legs of the leaf spring is curved, the hollow side of the curvature facing the other leg of the leaf spring and the distance between the band and the end turned over to form a loop by pushing the curvature in the direction of the other leg is too enlargeable.

In the embodiment according to the invention, it is possible to open or close the loop by simply arching the curved leg of the leaf spring back and forth.

In a preferred embodiment it is provided that the leg of the leaf spring, which lies opposite the end of the band folded over to form the loop, is curved. In this embodiment the effect is additionally achieved that the band in the loop area with the loop closed, i.e. in the case of a bulge which is raised outwards, is also arched, which gives the band a particularly compact and attractive appearance.

In the context of the invention it can further be provided that the leg of the leaf spring connected to the band in the region of the end of the band folded over to form a loop is cranked to form an eyelet-like receiving space. With this design, there is sufficient receiving space for a web, e.g. a watch, to which the strap is to be attached.

According to one embodiment of the invention it is provided that the free end of the leg of the leaf spring connected to the folded end of the band is angled towards the band or the other leg of the leaf spring. In this embodiment, the free end of the band part turned over to form loops also lies securely on the inside of the band when the loop is closed.

The U-shaped leaf spring provided according to the invention can be used for single-layer tapes on the inside or underside thereof, e.g. be fixed by gluing. With multilayer belts, e.g. for watch straps, it is recommended within the scope of the invention to arrange the leaf spring at least partially between the upper material and the lining. The lining leather can cover the entire inside of the belt, i.e. extend to the free end of the band part turned over to form loops, or for example only up to the bending area of the leaf spring or end shortly before.

The loop can then be opened particularly widely if the leg of the leaf spring which has the curvature is longer than the other leg of the leaf spring, the curvature preferably extending only over part of the length of the leg.

Finally, it can also be provided in the context of the invention that the leg of the leaf spring which is arranged in the region of the folded-over end is designed without curvature.

  • Figures 5 to 8 usable in the context of the invention U-shaped leaf springs in a diagrammatic representation.

The band 1 shown in FIGS. 1 to 4 consists of upper material 2 and lining 3, both of which can be made of leather, for example, the end 5 of band 1 being folded over onto band 1 to form a loop 4. In the embodiment shown, the lining 3 extends into the area of the loop 4 and ends there. But it is also one Embodiment conceivable in which the lining 3 extends to the free end 5 of the belt 1. As can be seen from FIG. 2, the band 1 can be partially or continuously remborded in the region of its longitudinal side edges, ie the upper material 2 overlaps the two longitudinal side surfaces of the lining 3.

In the area of the loop 4, a leaf spring 6 is connected to the band 1 and is bent essentially in a U-shape. The leaf spring 6 has two legs 7 and 8. The leg 7 is curved in its central region, the curvature 9, as can be seen from FIGS. 5 and 6, only extend over part of the length of the leg 7. The sections 10 and 11 of the leg 7 of the leaf spring 6 adjoining the curvature 9 are therefore flat. Likewise, the leg 8 of the leaf spring 6, i.e. the leg arranged in the region of the unbeaten end 5 of the band 1 to form a loop, with the exception of a bent portion 13 to form a receiving space for a web or the like.

If the curvature 9 in the leg 7 of the leaf spring 6 is now pushed into the position shown in FIGS. 3 and 5, the loop 4 opens, as shown in FIGS. 3 and 4. Belt 1 can now be looped e.g. be hung on the bridge of a clock. After the band 1 has been hung in, the curvature 9 is pushed back into the position shown in FIGS. 1 and 6, the loop closing. The curvature 9 can be pushed back from the position shown in FIG. 3 into the position shown in FIG. 1 simply by pressing against the band 1 from below approximately in the region of the end 5 of the band 1 which is turned over to form loops.

In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 7 and 8, the curvature 9 'is provided in the leg 8' of the leaf spring 6 ', which is arranged in the region of the end 5 of the band 1 which is folded over to form loops. The other leg 7 'of the leaf spring 6' is essentially flat. However, an embodiment (not shown) of the leaf spring is also conceivable in which both legs have a curvature.
